Commercial Description:
This is one beast of a beer you don’t want to mess with. We brew our Sac-Squatch Scotch ale using smoked peat malt to produce an extremely roasty, big bodied, high alcohol ale (7%abv). So tangle with this creature if you must, but don’t blame us if you feel a little furry in the morning. When putting hair on your chest just ain’t enough.

22 oz bottle. Poured dark with no head at all. Smoky nose and taste. Very bland. Malts mostly. I was not impressed with this at all and managed to get someone else to finish the bottle. Skip this one.

Bottled. Looks exactly like my favorite porters, or coca-cola, either way. Smokey, chocolate nose. Malty, chocolate, smoke, cherries, and a little butter. I’d be very proud of this had I brewed it but it falls just a bit short of a great scotch ale. The flavor starts out great but then seems to just fall off and then gets buttery.

Smoky malt aroma, poured with a short tan head. This was a respectable, but somewhat unremarkable scotch ale.

Very dark--barely any light gets through thiss. Little head formation. Nutty (hazelnut) and malted milk aroma. Flavor is slightly sweet and heavily roasted. Mild, barely indiscernible peat presence. More stouty than most scotch ales I’ve had. Remarkably thin for a 7% and overall acidic and flat on the palate. Not bad, but not that great either.

Oxidized with a diacetyl nose and some dms. Acidic peat and odd malt flavors. Very incnsistent beer will re-rate.

Nice balanced scotch ale. More of an export style. Mild fruity ester with a sublte smoke and roast character much like a mild medium roast coffee or maduro cigar. Nice sweet caramel malt and clean bitterness.

Deep brown ruby akle with moka head. Lightly smokey malt aroma. Lactic and smokey malt, with a nutty finish. ighter bodied scotch ale. (Sept. 2004)

Peat smoked malt nicely releasing roasty bitterness...Vinous, red fruit battle thin-body-riding minerals for supremacy, as citrus idly watches on...Lactic quid pro quos cannot make the tongue forget about the lack of core flavor and body for a strong scotch ale...
