Commercial Description:
This is one beast of a beer you don’t want to mess with. We brew our Sac-Squatch Scotch ale using smoked peat malt to produce an extremely roasty, big bodied, high alcohol ale (7%abv). So tangle with this creature if you must, but don’t blame us if you feel a little furry in the morning. When putting hair on your chest just ain’t enough.

Nice rich smoky peaty aroma, but hardly any head. Wow, a lot of caramel in this, a good malt and hop mixture, a bit smoky and overall quite tasty. A bit thin finish at first, but then I get some whiskey in the after after-taste. I liked this thoroughly

oh, my yes! Full bodied is right. Better than some imperial stouts I’ve tasted! The smoky malt is awesome. I’m not usually impressed with many commercial descriptions that appear on the beer pages, but this one holds true. This is quite a bit darker than other Scotch ales I’ve had. Nice tight head and stout-like lacing. The flavor is nutty, malty and chocolate (but not too much). I’m particularly thankful there isn’t a great deal of hoppiness to this one, although the hops are evident. Yum!

Bottle pours extremely dark red, brown hues, medium off-white pancake batter like head, with spotty lacing.   Peat, malts, earth, and subtle chocolate on the nose.   Lots going on with the flavor starting with roasted malts, peat, some mollasses... pretty sweet tasting this is.   I get a slight chocolate or coffee bean flavor as well.   Quit good this is.   Feels somewhat syrupy on the tongue.   Body and mouthfeel are very full.   I wish I had another bottle of this!   Thanks goes out to Flipbrewer for the trade!

Very nice dark brown color, small off white head that had a short hangtime then faded to a small lace.Very nice roasty malt aroma with a slight caramel and maybe burnt toffee as well.Lots of caramel and burnt toffee flavor with a nice malty side roasty and just a faint hint of hops coming on at the end as it warms up.A truly nice brew that is worthy of being on my shelf as a keeper for later good times. Thanks go to Flipbrewer for sending me this fine brew.

Bottled and tasted as SacSquash Scotch ALe. Dark brown color. Small white head. Aroma is malty, sweet, peaty and smoky. A medium bodied scotch ale. Malts are rich. Peaty and smoky, Very nice round roasty malt flavors. Very smooth taste. Nicely balanced. The smokiness and peatyness sort of hang around in the background and pervade the malt flavors. Its kind of a nice effect. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Nice balanced scotch ale. More of an export style. Mild fruity ester with a sublte smoke and roast character much like a mild medium roast coffee or maduro cigar. Nice sweet caramel malt and clean bitterness.

I sent Flipbrewer a Buckeye SASQUATCH, and he sent me this beer - Good Trade! Dark cherry cola brown, medium sized tan head, very nice lacing. Smells sweet and malty, maybe some smoke, minimal hop aroma. Taste is smokey sweet, caramel, bread, and then a cherry cordial sweetness down the center. Even with the big malt presence, there were sufficient hops to help dry out the finish, leaving a lightly bitter smokiness behind. Thanks Ernie!
