chris_o (4405), London, Greater London, England May 21, 2005 Sampled on handpump at the Church Inn, Saddleworth, where the beer is brewed. A lovely pub next to the isolated St Chads Church high on the edge of the moors above Uppermill, with views down into the valley. Plus there’s an excellent J W Lees pub (the Cross Keys) just a little further up the hill,, with a helpfully signposted footpath between the two. Copper coloured, with a slight haze. Noticeably floral, hoppy aroma. More hops in the flavour, with a vague resinous US-style accent. Nice attempt, but slightly let down by a rather soft mouthfeel. I would have liked a bit more bite. Still a good beer though.
