50cl bottle from Waitrose, Cambridge. Copper with a dense cream head; sweet aroma with a whiff of chocolate powder; sour fruit aroma with some caramel malts; rather thin in body and lacking in finish, although there are a few nuts to chew. Somewhat disappointing.

Bottle that I picked up from Waitrose, Great Shelford, Cambridge, consumed 19-06-09 Pours copper with a white head there is a touch of yeat in suspension. Aroma is syrup, some blossom and cocoa powder, an intriguing mixture. The taste is tangy, fruity, touch sour, I agree with Hughie it has a homebrew feel about it, but once again with Saffron aroma promises more. A8 A3 F5 P3 Ov12

Ugly, murky red brown with clouds of sediment. Sweet malt aroma with some sourness and yeast. Sour, spicy nutty taste. A little bitterness. Crude homebrewed type beer, but oddly complex and satisfying.

A Mes rate: Gravicask at Pigs Ear.
Orange amber colour with a white rim. Nice malty aroma with hints of coffee and some light fruit and tobacco. Nutty, malty & fruity flavour with a slight bitterness to the finish that balances it out pretty well.
