Commercial Description:
DESD DEMPRE COM A NOSSA SELECCAO
Sagres Selecção is the name of the special edition that Sagres launched in May 2006, to celebrate the presence of the National Football Team "Selecção" in the World Cup, whose campaign counts on the participation of the greatest Portuguese football player of all time, Eusébio. Developed from a special recipe the Sagres Selecção is a balanced beer, with a fruity and hoppy aroma and with an alcoholic percentage of 5,6.

Bottle, 33cl. As the commercial description says, this beer was created to celebrate the presence of the Portuguese football team in the Germany World Cup 2006 (we lost to France in the semis, but came in 4th place, which isn’t bad for a country with 10 millions souls). Now, the beer! It’s produced by our 2nd biggest brewery, Centralcer, and is small variation of their best selling product: Sagres. Golden colour with a decent white head, that lasted longer than i expected it to. It’s a very common lager, with the expected hoppy aroma and bitter flavour. Thin body and dry finish. Not much different from classic Sagres, just a little more of alcohol and a new label.

Pours just like a good common pils/pale lager. Tastes, feels, amd smells that way too. Nothing special, but could be a good beer to drink on for a while. Drinking this one at home which I brought back from Lisbon in early July.
