Sully (1363), Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia Nov 13, 2006 I forget what the Deneb means, or perhaps I didn’t even ask. The S&A is one of those places you are attracted to because of the promise. It is situated in Fremantle, has an ample bar and possibly good food. The beers are the potential attraction but overall they fall short. For a black beer it is probably too pale, even though it looks fine in the glass. The head dissipates quickly but this is not as disappointing as the sweetness and cloying overbalance of sweet malt to the hoped for burnt flavour of black malts. OK, but only enhanced by the company, Bluevegie and my work colleague Petra. swivelguru (8), Gurumonpolis, Australia does not count Nov 3, 2006 This Beer is actually a Munich Dunkel. Filled with malt driven flavour supported with a secondary nutty biscuit that the Munich Dunkels are famous for. It has the Rawhide brown tan colourwith a hint of amber red. Has a light hint of Hallertau Hops. A great expression of the style! bluevegie (1732), Perth, Australia Oct 28, 2006 Tried this on tap at the Sail with Sully. Nut brown body, light tan lasting head, cloying sweet taste, some chocolate notes showing but not much. Bit too sweet for a dark lager for me, perhaps I was expecting and hoping for more roasted bitterness
