Commercial Description:
A well balanced, full flavored, amber ale. It has a rich, malty body with a pleasant caramel character derived from a specialty Caravienne malt. A complex hop aroma, with a hint of floral and citrus comes from a combination of Cascades and Liberty hops. It has a rich, creamy head with a fine lace. The light fruitiness, characteristic of ales, is derived from a proprietary yeast strain. Saint Arnold Amber Ale is best consumed at 50 - 55° Fahrenheit.

Thanks to the Wife for bringing this back from a trip to Houston. Good looking amber ale. It’s, well, amber with a butterscotch tinged head. Fruity aroma with an interesting interaction of citrusy hops. Taste is very malty with some hop balance. Caramel, biscuit, ripe golden fruits. Finish seemed a little metallic, but otherwise quite enjoyable.

Sent to Texas, for four days of training. I was surprised that such a nice hotel had such a crappy selection of beer at their bar. I had to say something to the manager. They didn’t even have shiner bock in bottles. Did some reseach here before I left and suggested that they get some St. Arnolds for some local flavor. The second night, they had a case of this ready for us. By the third night we had the whold bar enjoying it. I hope they keep it as a selection. The Commercial descrip does it justice.

Pours amber, slightly cloudy, largish head, effervescent. Aroma is rather light for my taste: hops, grassy, faint floral and fruit notes. Crisp, light mouthfeel, bittersweet with a little sour. Pleasant.

Pours a nice golden amber color with lots of carbonation.Aroma is full hoppiness.Flavors of hops, malts and cereal.Finish has some bitterness on it but most of all it lingers in my mouth too long.

Hazy golden color. Nice toffee aroma. Good structure, good malt taste, with toffee, some sweetness, and a quite good hopping.

Draft. Above average amber that did meet its full flavored claim. Easy drinking beer that finished dry. Would order again.

An orange/gold pour with little head or lacing. A malt aroma dominates with a citrus hop trailer. A flavor of malt dominates followed by a grapefruity flavor/bitter. Decent palate but just a tad on the watery side but a pretty good amber.

From the bottle and courtesy of my Secret Santa, pours a clear, orangish amber with a nice foamy white head, decent lacing. Aroma is certainly not overpowering. Malts and bready fragrances, amybe a little bit of hops. Flavor is much more bold and full bodied than I had expected from the aroma. I think that’s a good thing, just a bit unexpected. I think I’d call this more of a pale ale than an amber. Distictively bitter floral hops, citrus, and maltiness. Notes of alcohol and cloves and bitters are also apparent as it warms. I think this is a better beer while still cold, but not bad overall.
