Commercial Description:
A well balanced, full flavored, amber ale. It has a rich, malty body with a pleasant caramel character derived from a specialty Caravienne malt. A complex hop aroma, with a hint of floral and citrus comes from a combination of Cascades and Liberty hops. It has a rich, creamy head with a fine lace. The light fruitiness, characteristic of ales, is derived from a proprietary yeast strain. Saint Arnold Amber Ale is best consumed at 50 - 55° Fahrenheit.

(Bottle) Pours a clear amber body with a small white head. Aroma of caramel and mild citrus. Flavor of mild hops and caramel. Refreshing amber.

Bright amber with a white head. Mild, sweet malts balance with some hops for a good aroma. Not much malt flavor, but lots of piney, floral hops with some carmel notes in there as well. Struck me as more of a pale ale. Good bitter finish.

12 oz bottle. Slightly hazy pale amber beer, no head. A nice fruity yeast aroma combinded with caramel malt, a touch of toast. Flavour is similar, caramel/toffee sweetness, apple/berry fruit. Light bitterness. I’d like some aroma hops, but this is quite good.

Bottle: Courtesy of bu11zeye via trade. Almost no aroma to speak of, maybe the slightest hint of caramel and hops, but it may just be a case of searching for something. Pours a transparent amber with an insignificant white head. Sweet up front which goes from sugary to more of a caramel in the finish with a touch of hops and some grassiness. Easy drinking and smooth, but nothing spectacular. Better than a lot of ambers, but due to the weak aroma, won’t show up in the final score

Im suprised at how golden the color is and how hoppy the aroma and taste are. It tastes like an IPA to me. I was well into the night (a few beverages deep) but I couldn’t get much past the hops. A little malt in there with some spicy notes and a rather dry finish, but suprisingly hoppy.

Small white head, good rtention with a touch of spotty lace. Clear, deep gold color. Nose of cascades and crystal malts. Body is medium. Nice malt to hop ratio, spicey, caramel malts with a light grassiness. Finish is dry, lightly fruity. A solid amber ale. Thanks for the trade Kevin!

Shows a lightly hazy, full copper color when held up to the light, otherwise it is a deep reddish copper color. The head is thin and a light tan color. The aroma is lightly spiced with hops and has hints of malt in it with notes of toasted biscuits and some caramel. The taste is dry at first but then picks up light sweetness as a solid toffee like maltiness kicks in. The is a low level of spicy hop notes here, as well as a lightly bitter finish. The hops give it flavor hints of lemon, and an herbal woody character. The malt in this seems a bit tired, perhaps some notes of stale caramel. This is actually not a bad beer, it is quite a bit more flavorful and complex than I was expecting, though it is still just an American Amber Ale.
