A white head and a bit of lacing. Alot of yeast at the beginning of the armoa, but it changed to a sugary grapefruit with some honey thrown in. Carmel eh? well got a lot in the taste. Sweeter than I expected. Also some bitterness that became more overpowering as it warmed. Thick feel in the mouth. Just average leaning toward not good. richlikebeer (832), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 4, 2005 thx to kawa for this, pours a dark orange color with a thin white head, faded away immediately. aroma was hoppy with come fruit tones, maybe orange or grapefruit. taste was very similar. there were enough malts to balance out the bitterness of the hops. medium amount of body and a moderate bitterness to the aftertaste. a nice brew to sit back and just enjoy a beer with. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 22, 2005 Thanks to Kawa for this one! Light orange, slight but lasting head. Aroma of biscuit and slight vegetal hops, sort of like some bitters. Flavors include light caramel, biscuit, and a decent hop underpinning of faint citrus. The vegetal hop note keeps itself in the background, not detracting. Quite good as an amber. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 14, 2005 Thanks to TChrome for this. Pours dark straw (the non-amberest amber I’ve ever had...this is the color of the amber prehistoric insects were trapped in...not the typical color of laboratory amber glassware, which is more brown hued). Big, creamy white head. Aroma of malt, slight hopcit, lemon zest. Tastes citrusy, with lemon zest, hops, slight caramel. Definitely more of an APA than an amber. Still, I don’t fault a great deal for non-conformance to style. After all, I never conformed to the laws of Catholicism either, but I still treat people with respect and courtesy. Smooth, medium to light palate. Not bad, and I’d drink this again in a heartbeat. Saint Arnold continues to impress me, and his story of "turning one mug of beer into enough for his entire funeral procession" always brings me to tears. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 13, 2005 Strong carmel malt aroma with equally strong citrus hop nose. Hazy deep golden-orange with shy, white head that recedes to ring. Fair hop flavour has a spicy and tart pine/citrus character. Some hints of alcohol in the finish. Medium-light body with engaging carbonation that is refreshing and thirst-quenching. Bottle. Thanks, Kawa! Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA

Sweet malts, earthy hops and very yeasty flavors. light bitterness on the finish. A very floral amber. Kevin (1918), Colorado, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 31, 2004 pours a brownish yellow with a decent one finger snowy head. sweet malt aroma with a touch of lemon. smooth full body malt caramel taste. hoppy lemon hints in the finish but the sweetness dominates throughout. not overly sweet, nicely balanced easy drinking with a flavor i am really fond of. this might be my favorite brew from this brewery. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 10, 2004 Clear yellow/amber color, not hugely lively in appearance. Good hop aroma of gentle citrus and pine, flavor of some malty fruitiness, sufficient hops, and generous afterglow of lingering but mild hops. Not bad. The "world on the street" is that Saint Arnold is very conservative about making sure they really are pleased with a beer before they go public with it. It paid off here. appreciated! Still, it would be nice if they pumped out a few specials and small-batch seasonals.
