Commercial Description:
A well balanced, full flavored, amber ale. It has a rich, malty body with a pleasant caramel character derived from a specialty Caravienne malt. A complex hop aroma, with a hint of floral and citrus comes from a combination of Cascades and Liberty hops. It has a rich, creamy head with a fine lace. The light fruitiness, characteristic of ales, is derived from a proprietary yeast strain. Saint Arnold Amber Ale is best consumed at 50 - 55° Fahrenheit.

Pours a clear and rusty orange with a white fluffy head. Aroma is grassy hops and caramel malt and fruit similar to peaches. The flavor is of grassy hops , sweet carmel which carries to the end with no dryness. Medium bodied beer.

Appearance: rustic amber hue, with a succint, perfunctory head. Aroma: sweetness itself, rich, malty, with precious, but lovable, fruitiness, hints of cherries, peach, melon. Taste: light, happy hoppiness at first, then that rich maltiness continues through the flavor. Body is light to medium, medium-length finish, accompanied by continuing, delightful flavor. Not a bad amber you’ve got there, Houston.

Slight hoppy/sweet scent with a medium head. Has a clear orange/amber color. Has a initial malty flavor with a hop influenced bitter finish. This is a straight forward amber ale with a full flavor, a little on bitter side, but a good hoppy bitter.

Pours a coppery amber colour with a nice white frothy head. No Aroma to speak. The Flavour though is roasted malt sweet balanced just rite with a hoppy and somewhat bitter finish. Goes down very lite and refreshing but with lots of flavour. This beer is gonna be one of my staples for 6.67 a six pack man you just can’t beat it. Salud!

In the bottle at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen in "Bush" Airport, Houston. This beer sparkles on the tongue with a late hop aftertaste surprise. Spunky little palate with pleasant hop tickle on the side of the mouth and tip of the tongue. A bit lighter in color than I had expected for an amber. This beer is the color of the rising sun over Corpus Christi Beach. Some lace on the top of the glass. Not much head.

This is , like the kristal weizen, is much better on tap at the brauerei. Rich, malty with slight hints of sweetness but the hops keep the overall tone bitter.

My buddy smuggled a 12-pack of this stuff from Dallas. I thought he was going to smuggle some Zagenbock (sic), but he did not. It’s not that bad for an amber ale. It’s a little stronger than Bass.

The three ways to get this one are bottle, draft, and cask...the three are utterly different...I love a lot of different cask beers, but this I am not a fan of...the tap is a very smooth almost mild American pale...sweet nose and smooth palate with little hoppy "bite" to it...the bottle on the other hand is one of my favorite bottles around...strong hoppy finish and nose...
