Commercial Description:
A well balanced, full flavored, amber ale. It has a rich, malty body with a pleasant caramel character derived from a specialty Caravienne malt. A complex hop aroma, with a hint of floral and citrus comes from a combination of Cascades and Liberty hops. It has a rich, creamy head with a fine lace. The light fruitiness, characteristic of ales, is derived from a proprietary yeast strain. Saint Arnold Amber Ale is best consumed at 50 - 55° Fahrenheit.

light amber pour with some light citrus notes and a small hint of hops. very light hop taste that doesn’t ruin the beer. i’d buy this beer again for sure.

On tap at BJ’s in Pinellas FLA. Typical good beery aroma, perhaps a touch of hay or grass. Slightly darker than the ubiquitous pale yellow american lager. Barely any carbonation. On the palate it seems to habve a much higher alky content than the 5.5% listed here. Has a little more bitter personality than I care for. Malty alky linger.

Not a lot going on in this beer. It is very pleasant, but just not distinctive enough for an amber ale. The light body might be nice in the summertime. On tap at Flying Saucer.

Nice golden straw color, a beauful golden color.Quickly dissipating head. Carbonated smell with wheat accents. Nice rich malt flavor that is surprisingly mild and bitter. The beer continues to bubble well after being poured.

Courtesy of Zinister, 12 oz bottle. Poured into pint glass with a loud fizzy offwhite head that disapated near instantly into a small ring. Nose of Roasted malts, caramel, citrus hops with a background character of red fruits. Initial taste of a fizzy active mouthfeel with a light body. Mild malts pour thinly across the palate with rhine bitter hops stumblin behind. Finishing with tangy & grassy hops. Palate duration is average. No head retention or lacing of the glass. Interesting.

12 oz bottle. Reddish brown with an ok head. Aromas of Roasted malts. Some citrus and bright fruits. Flavors were similar with decent hopping on the finish. Not to bad.

Light amber with a sheen for head. Grassy hop smell with a whiff of biscuity malts. Medium body and smooth. tastes of lightly sweet caramel malts. Finishes with a mildly bitter hop tang. Not too bad. 03/08/2006

On tap at BJ’s. Pours amber orange with a thin white head. Aroma is a little sweet with a touch of hops. Taste is much bigger, thick malty and hoppy. I thought this would be some kind of a fluff beer, but I found it complex and very interesting. Worth a try.
