Commercial Description:
A beautiful, deep copper brown ale. It has a full, malty body with hints of chocolate, a touch of sweetness and a light hop flavor. A complex malt character is created by combining five different types of malts. It has a rich, creamy head with a fine lace. The light fruitiness, characteristic of ales, is derived from a proprietary yeast strain. Saint Arnold Brown Ale is best consumed at 45-50° Fahrenheit.

Bottle from a trade with Kaggs: Pours lighter than any brown ale I’ve seen, more amber than anything else. The head was thin and off white and quickly dissipating. The nose brought things back into the brown ale realm...powdered cocoa, dust, nuts, and toffee. Some caramel too. Flavors upon a pretty thin palate showcase notes of nuts and toffee. Fizzy mouthfeel distracts a bit. Finish is lacking sophistication and is somewhat flimsy. These beers need more body...it must be hella hot in Texas.

Bottle: Pours a mahogany color with a light head and moderate carbonation. The nose is toasty with some light roast and fruity hop notes. The flavor has an average malty caramelly body with some light nutty toast notes towards the tail. Decent brown ale with a chewy mouthfeel and lightly bready nose.

Deep amber color. Well balanced with nice roasted malt character. This is my favorite of the non-seasonal brews from St. Arnold.

Thanks Cavie for sending. Pours a light copper amber with red orange hues. Coaxing produces a one finger creamy eggshell white head. Nose is sweet and fruity, slightly caramelly, undertones of English yeast, some citrus. Flavor is malty and sweet, caramel, English feel, crisp, leafy hops. Palate is cr4isp with a light body.

Another from ericandersnavy. Pours medium amber with a small off-white head. It’s got the typical harsh caramel nose. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is light chocolate, medium roast caramel, and sume nuttiness. Finishes towards chocolate. More dry than sweet.

Pours light amber with a small white head. The aroma is deep roast and a bit of must. The flavor is some roast but big chocolate and very nutty. Medium body and high carbonation.

Pours a clear light brown. Not much head. Light, light nutty aroma and some watered down chocolate and malt aromas. Flavor is very light. Not enough body. I get some caramel malt but I also get a hearty dose of peanut shells. Lacks the true "punch" a good brown should. Flavor isn’t bad, its just a bit weak.
