Commercial Description:
A beautiful, deep copper brown ale. It has a full, malty body with hints of chocolate, a touch of sweetness and a light hop flavor. A complex malt character is created by combining five different types of malts. It has a rich, creamy head with a fine lace. The light fruitiness, characteristic of ales, is derived from a proprietary yeast strain. Saint Arnold Brown Ale is best consumed at 45-50° Fahrenheit.

Beer has a very sweet nutty, mocha aroma. There is little head to speak of, but the taste is very nice. Has a very smooth mouth feel, almost makes me want to chew it, but not a very thick beer at all. Goes down smooth and leaves a sweet aftertaste. Overall, a very good brew.

A Mes rate: 30cl bottle bought back by Sim from her time in TX. Brandy like sweet aroma. Lots of sugar and alcohol present. Quite funky. Vivid medium brown body with a head that vanished almost immediately. Sweet malty flavour with lots of dark fruit and some orange. Tastes like it is going to be really chunky but it slips down a treat. Hops make an appearance for the finish.

This is a pretty good brown, it’s got a northern style to it for sure, which i much prefer. Not as brown as I would expect, it’s more of a light brown with some amber thrown in there. Aroma is caramel malt, somewhat sweet honey smelling. Taste is well balanced i must say. They use a killer yeast on this beer, nice fruity, sweet, and malty. There’s a clean hop finish too. I’m not the biggest brown fan, but this is pretty good.

12 oz bottle: poured dark orange with very little head. Light chocolate, nut, and malt aroma. Flavor is malty with caramel notes and nuts. Peanutty. Light sweetness in the finish. This is full of flavor and I was surprised by the nuttiness. Could use some roastiness in my opinion. A pleasant drink.

HOLY CRAP this is a good beer. Great spicy, fruity flavor with plenty of hops and a trace of caramel at the end. My new favorite brown ale...even better than Newcastle, I’d say.

Brown. A smooth malty brew which still tastes light. Had a hint of chocolate in the taste.

12oz bottle from Kaggie97. Pours a clear light brown color with a small off white head. Head receedes to a small ring. Very small bubbles race towards the surface. A light hop character in the nose followed by some light nuts and chocolate. Palate is light bodied, smooth and sticky. Very light flavors of brown sugar, chocolate, molasses, and a light bitter end.
