Commercial Description:
A beautiful, deep copper brown ale. It has a full, malty body with hints of chocolate, a touch of sweetness and a light hop flavor. A complex malt character is created by combining five different types of malts. It has a rich, creamy head with a fine lace. The light fruitiness, characteristic of ales, is derived from a proprietary yeast strain. Saint Arnold Brown Ale is best consumed at 45-50° Fahrenheit.

Beer pours an almost ruby red brown color, crystal clear, with almost no head and lacing. The flavor was very sweet for a brown ale, almost bock-like in it. Some off flavor was also present. A very high level of carbonation left the tongue rather tingly. An okay beer, but hardly worth the effort of toting back from Texas to Delaware. Oh well.

The beer poured a light clear amber with an off white head. The nose was a light mix of caramel and fruit. The taste was watery and washed out, but I could pickup on some note of caramel and malt. I found the beer it be drinkable but not something I would write home about. Wait this is the same post I wrote for the Amber, well they tasted the same so why not?

Murky copper color with a head that disappeared to a whisp too quickly. Sweet grainy nose with an almost apricot fruitiness to it. Sweet beer with lots of caramel, a wet grain maltiness, and tea. Really not a very interesting beer.

Nice flavor with a mixture of hops, fruit and a hint of chocolate. Fizzy head after a nice pour.

Poured a nice rich brown color with some ruby highlights and a thin, fizzy white head. Virtually no lacing. The aroma was centered around the malt but some light citrus came into play as well. The flavor was mostly malt with maybe some mild chocolate and some thin earthy/floral characteristics. Average mouthfeel. Average finish. Easy drinking, very forgettable.

12 oz bottle courtesy of zinister. Pours a murky brown color with a small khaki head that lasted the whole glass. The aroma was moderate in strength with sweet roasted malts, brown sugar and a bit of molasses. The flavor pretty much mirrored the aroma very mild with lightly roasted malts and a bit of molasses. The mouthfeel was full, smooth and creamy with lively carbonation. The finish was medium with lingering brown sugar. Overall: a very enjoyable session ale that goes down easy.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of MaltOMeal. Hazy, amber golden with an off-white head. Aroma of caramel and overripe fruit. Medium body with roasted malts, caramel and nuts with a vague, underlying tartness. The finish is dry. Quite drinkable. 080408

Muddy with tiny off white head. Sweet fruity aroma with caramel, roasted malt and hoppy notes. Flavor goes same way with chocolate notes.
