Commercial Description:
A beautiful, deep copper brown ale. It has a full, malty body with hints of chocolate, a touch of sweetness and a light hop flavor. A complex malt character is created by combining five different types of malts. It has a rich, creamy head with a fine lace. The light fruitiness, characteristic of ales, is derived from a proprietary yeast strain. Saint Arnold Brown Ale is best consumed at 45-50° Fahrenheit.

Poured a translucent amber with off white head with good retention. The aroma threw me off at first....I swear I smelled something rotten but on second evaluation, it was good...nice floral/fruity aroma, kinda unique. Flavor is malty with strong interesting fruity notes, not as smooth as I expected, kinda complex. Medium-high carbonation that is good for this particular beer.

Funky cobwebs and caramel in the aroma. pretty light for a brown ale, I’d say it is an amber by appearance. Carbonated and slightly soapy, this beer does offer a variety of flavors - caramel, sour apple being dominant. Not a memorable trip to good ole texas.

Smells yeasty with notes of caramel. Pours a nice amber color with almost no head. Tastes deeply malty with some nice caramel flavors.

12oz bottle via in person trade with legion242. thanks john. Pours amber with a half finger tan head. Sweet malty nose. Taste is sweet, malty and relatively normal for a brown, this is by all means an unoffensive easy drinking brown, all in all good, but not great, and certainly not bad.

Draught at the brewery. Pours dark amber with a moderate off-white head. Aroma is semi-sweet caramel malt with some nuts and chocolate. Flavor is caramel malt, nuts, and some citrus hops. Pretty good.

(Tap @.Brewery): Pours a clear reddish-brown clear color. Big creamy off-white head, good lacing, lasting. Somewhat nutty aroma, some hops. Okay aroma. Nice malty nutty taste. Tasty.

Amber with an off white head. Decent smell of light grainy malts and caramel. Smooth frothy mouthfeel. Nice taste follows the smell with grainy malts and a light sweetness. Finishes lightly bitter. A decent enough brown ale here. 03/02/2006
