Commercial Description:
A beautiful, deep copper brown ale. It has a full, malty body with hints of chocolate, a touch of sweetness and a light hop flavor. A complex malt character is created by combining five different types of malts. It has a rich, creamy head with a fine lace. The light fruitiness, characteristic of ales, is derived from a proprietary yeast strain. Saint Arnold Brown Ale is best consumed at 45-50° Fahrenheit.

Excellent easy-drinking brown ale, low hops and high malt, yet avoids being overly sweet.

Nice flavor with a mixture of hops, fruit and a hint of chocolate. Fizzy head after a nice pour.

HOLY CRAP this is a good beer. Great spicy, fruity flavor with plenty of hops and a trace of caramel at the end. My new favorite brown ale...even better than Newcastle, I’d say.

Well, the first thing that hit me when I cracked open the bottle and poured was the deceiving scent of Cascade hops. I say deceiving because there was only a light hint of it in the flavor. I did taste traces of chocolate and sweet fruits. The body was definitely present and full. It left fine lace and a light head and was dark brown (uhh..brown ale?) in color with a mohogany tinge. As far as brown ales go, it’s a good one. Of course, I just finished racking some pale ale I am brewing, so I was VERY thirsty for a beer after smelling that wonderful malt aroma. Maybe that had something to do with how good this was. Then again. Maybe not.

My favorite from St. Arnold’s. I had this one on tap at the brewery, and it was an amazing treat. Very malty, sweet ale.

Brown. A smooth malty brew which still tastes light. Had a hint of chocolate in the taste.

Copper Color pour with a half finger, very light tan head. smells sweet and a bit nutty, not smelling hops. Taste is about the same, just a bit sweet up front, then get a little nut in the middle and in the finish. finishes a little dry. this is a very flavorful brown ale, had a nice body to it, with a medium mouthfeel. i have been pretty underwhelmed with most of the brown ales I have had latley but this one is very good, and pretty spot on for the style actually. Overall im very pleased with this one, and for a brown ale, I would definitely pick this up again as it is one of the better english browns I have had.

Nice, one of St. Arnold’s better offerings. Small head on the pour, transluscent amber-brown color. Nicely sweet malt profile that lasts all the way into the chocolatey finish. Mild hoppy spice, an excellent beer!
