ansermadide (496), Kyle, Texas, USA Nov 7, 2009 Dark, dense yet clear amber color with light white bubbly head. Looks thin. Aroma of a sweet hard candy maybe watermelon. On sip you experience the same candy presence before you even swallow. Flavor of well balanced fruits... Quite amazing. Candy goodness without the sticky teeth. Very good... Light Syrupy body but not too syrupy. Superbly easy finish. MatSciGuy (629), Rosemount, Minnesota, USA Nov 1, 2009 [’08 Bottle] from SlimChill. Pours a clear copper with a well lasting taupe head. Aroma is quite dusty, some spices - clove definitely, and not much hop presence. Flavor is nice and malty, the alcohol is well balanced, still fairly sweet, and the hops are basically gone save for some bitterness on the finish. A decent beer that seems to have aged predictably but not at all poorly. Sammer (23), Plano, Texas, USA Oct 24, 2009 Hazy amber pour from bottle. Brown sugar, clove and nutmeg. Light body, easy on the palate. Good beer for the holidays. angrypirate06 (678), Texas, USA Oct 22, 2009 Bottle thanks to bman1113vr. Caramel brown pour with an off white head. Aroma is caramel, brown sugar, fruity. Flavor is brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg. Pleasant lively mouth. Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 4, 2009 Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, fruit, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and fruit, leading to a dry bitter finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Aug 5, 2009 Bottle. Pours a amber body with a tan head. Malty with a light woody note, weak spices and a warm fruit sensation. Not all that good. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 26, 2009 at my cellar temperature, low Sixties, Bonus in trade from a generous Texas trader. Like a Belgium, with a good mix of malts. Alcohol aroma. Pours medium body and significant white head. Yeasty taste, very drinkable indeed. Above average mouthfeel. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA May 15, 2009 courtesy fo lowgear.
Pours amber,/orange, thin beige head.
Aroma is malty with some nice spices and brown sugar.
Taste, dry, malty, caramelized sugar, some spices; cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg.
Some pine hops with the spices not overly present.
Finish leans on a light hops with touch of pear/spives, balanced out with good caramel, toffee.
Seemed to alternate between the bitter and sweet.
