Pours orange to amber with a semi clear body. Smell is fruity with raisin bread as well. Taste is the same with a strong raisin bread flavor and light belgian yeasty character. Slightly bitter, and perhaps a bit nuttiness too. Not bad. BlackForestCO (828), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

Poured a clear, light copper color with no head. Bready malt aroma with some spiciness and light fruit. Sweet, fruity malt entry leads into a sweet raisin and fig presence with some light clove finishing with a lightly yeasty, dry finish. Slick on the palate, but felt a bit thin. Pretty nice quad, but it isn’t quite up their with the big boys. kramer (2488), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 19, 2008 12 oz bottle, via goryshkewych. Pours a dark orange body with a good amount of yeast haze. Smallish fizzy light beige head that faded to a wispy film. The nose is quite sweet and fruity with lots of light brown sugar and a good bit of alcohol vapors. A little bit of spiciness from the yeast that comes across as almost allspice like. The flavor is not as sweet as the nose had suggested, still quite fruity, but not sticky or cloying. A good bit of alcohol comes out mid swallow and lasts into the finish. I do like that the brown sugar has not over powered the malt and yeast. Mouthfeel is full bodied and thick but not sticky or cloying with fairly nice soft carbonation. Overall, this was pretty decent. As it warmed there seemed to be a bit of oxidation creeping out on the late finish. mar (1939), Dallas, Texas, USA

Poured a thick cloudy amber, but had a thin off white had with minimal retention.
Aroma is of apple (my wife picked that out) and sweet caramel malt. Flavor is very sweet, with citris notes, with slight bitterness. Body is full with medium carbonation. Overall.....I love this beer!!!!! I think I was lucky just to get a bottle of this from Bu11zeye, from the look on his face, he didn’t want to let it go.....Thanks Marcus!!!!!!! It’s much appreciated! Goodgrief (1161), Middletown, Delaware, USA

Decent aroma of caramel apples and cherries and sweet alcohol. Very warming, noticeable, but pleasant alcohol under lighter fruits, notably cherries and apple. Smooth mouthfeel with noticeable carbonation, slightly dry. This was similar in nature to Weyerbacher Blasphemy, with no barrel character. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA
