Commercial Description:
This will be our final release in the Divine Reserve series for this year. No. 3 is an imperial or double IPA meaning that it is higher in alcohol and hoppier than a regular IPA. The taste of this beer is initially malt with honey notes (from honey, no less) versus spicy hop bitterness with the hops eventually winning. In fact, you will notice that the bitter will remain with you well after each sip. This is a beer that should mellow with age. While this beer is recommended primarily for the hopheads of the world, the bitter of this beer is surprisingly pleasant for being so, well, huge. That may be attributed in a large part to our water quality. Ah, the things reverse osmosis lets you do. Here is some info on the beer: Cases Made: 542 Date Brewed: July 17, 2006 Date Bottled: September 21, 2006 Original Gravity: 1.082 Final Gravity: 1.010 Alcohol: 9.5% ABV Malts: Maris Otter, Wheat, Caravienne, Carapils and Dark Crystal Other Sugars: Honey, Molasses Hops: Chinook, Centennial, Ahtenum, Cascades For those of you that don't remember, this recipe was inspired by David Majoras' winning entry in the 2006 Big Batch Brew Bash competition. We use the term "inspired by" because when scaling up a recipe, many changes, some drastic, are always made. We hope you enjoy this beer! We also hope you are one of the lucky ones that finds some of this beer!

Bottled - yespr’s number 10,000 rating - congratulations, friend. An unclear amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of sweet malt adn over ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and hops as well as lighter notes of over ripe fruits, leading to a dry and fruity finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of bu11zeye. Pours an opaque and hazy amber golden with a yellowish head. Aroma of hops and overripe fruit. Quite full-bodied with notes of licorice and overripe fruit - somewhat oxidized. Rather hoppy finish. Resembles a hoppy Barley Wine most. Happy 10k yespr! 090609

RB #10K: 12 fl oz bottle, courtesy of Papsoe (trade with bullzeye). Shared with Henrik and Jens - thanks guys, thanks! Pours hazy orange with a fast gone and initially white head. Dry wooden hops aroma with a light peachy touch. Wooden and fruity base flavour lending towards a hoppy US barley wine in fruity flavour and texture. Smooth, bitter and fruity flavoured. Smooth fruity flavoured finish with a light bitterness too. Lasting wooden touch into the far finish. Nice one.

lots of sweet orange and tangerine in the aroma along with the spicyness, lots of earthy bitterness combined with the spicy hop flavor, nice sweetness almost adds balance but falls short

Beautiful amber color. Good IPA, the hopping is oily and very strong, aromatic, more resiny than fruity; there is enough malt, caramel and toffee to balance it. The final is long, aromatic, balanced. A bit soul-less but very pleasant.
