Commercial Description:
This is a Wee Heavy that one of our brewers has been working on for a couple of years and the final results are well worth the wait. The color is deep ruby on its way to black with bright clarity (especially considering it is unfiltered) and a thick, tan head. It has a nose of Irish coffee with hints of peat. The body is sweet and creamy--not thin, not heavy. Almost refreshing, if a beer this big can be described as such. Caramel malt, smoke, coffee and orange come in and out of focus several times as the beer moves across the palate, then it finishes with a light spiciness. We again used our St. Arnold yeast which added a nice layer of complexity to this already multifaceted beer. Enjoy at 45°F or warmer.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of KAggie97. Pours a clear orangey brown with a beige head. Distinct aroma of smoke, tar and burned malt. Quite full-bodied really with plenty of sweet roasted malt, notes of Scotch whisky and peaty smoke. Very dry finish. Very delicious. 130608

12 fl oz bottle. Pours dark and hazy brown with a lacing tan head. Solid aged malt aroma with a light overripe fruit note and barrel accents. Smooth chocolate flavour, alcohol and dense malt flavour. Ends with a nice chocolate smoothness.

12oz bottle thanks to amc3000. Pours a dark, cola-texture with a thin off-white head which dissipated quickly except at the edge. Smell is quite nice of dark fruit, some brown sugar and slight alcohol. Taste was rich with figs and raisin, brown sugar and some earthiness. Mouthfeel was medium and a bit syrupy with slight carbonation and a little bitterness. Very nice.

Bright chestnut. Agreeable nose with deep cherry, rich brown sugar, burnt blueberries. Sweet and soft, and a little bit sticky. Rich brown sugar again, creme brulee. Toasty finish. Excellent beer.

12oz. bottle. Rich, malty aroma, emerging as it warms, full of dark fruits and sugary sweetness, with notes of toffee, plum, red grape, black cherry, milky cocoa and faint wisps of peaty smoke. Dark, cloudy black-mahogany color with a very slight off-white ring of a head. Flavor is fruity and gently tart up front with hints of raisin and berry, followed by an immense dark, sugary malt presence, lightly roasty, syrupy and toffeeish, finishing with a blend of semi-sweet chocolate bitterness, leafy tobacco, slight madeira, vanilla and drying earthiness. Lingering grape-like fruit and gently warming alcohol late. Mouthfeel is silky smooth and full, almost soothing, borne by a massively full body. What an amazing nightcap this has turned out to be. Thanks a bunch to Tim for the chance to try it!

12 oz. pours a deep brown with a ruby sparkle, little head to speak of. Aroma is decidedly chocolate, a little peanut, lots of raspberry and whiskey. Flavor is a litttle chocolate with a good progression from acidity to alcohol with deep prune, coffee and orange. Palate is slick and slightly oily, but leaves a refreshing feel all about. Overall, a great wee heavy that really impressed. Too bad I probably won’t be seeing this one again.

Bottle, special procurement. Solid brown color with small white head. Very fruity nose. Slight hint of peanut butter and jam sandwich. Deep rich, complex body. Never too sweet. Lovely creamy mouthfeel. Nice!

Thanks to lb4lb for the bottle. Pour is muddy brown with almost no head. Aroma is chocolate, caramel and roasted malt. Taste was suprisingly full of sweet caramel, chocolate and slightly bitter. Very rich and smooth drinker. surpassed expectations.
