Commercial Description:
This is a Wee Heavy that one of our brewers has been working on for a couple of years and the final results are well worth the wait. The color is deep ruby on its way to black with bright clarity (especially considering it is unfiltered) and a thick, tan head. It has a nose of Irish coffee with hints of peat. The body is sweet and creamy--not thin, not heavy. Almost refreshing, if a beer this big can be described as such. Caramel malt, smoke, coffee and orange come in and out of focus several times as the beer moves across the palate, then it finishes with a light spiciness. We again used our St. Arnold yeast which added a nice layer of complexity to this already multifaceted beer. Enjoy at 45°F or warmer.

Sample provided by mj. Clear brown body with a medium-sized tan head. The nose is smoky with roast, milk chocolate and toffee. The flavor is moderately sweet and vinous with berry, vanilla, very light smoke and a light bitterness. Full body is sticky with light carbonation.

12-oz. Thanks, Boboski! Mahogany with ruby highlights and a filmy, sudsy tan head. Nice three dimensional dark pitted tree fruit on the nose. Smoky. Some tingy acidity in the aromatics as well. Rich, creamy body. Soft carb. Rich, dense, fruity, chocolatey, smoky mid-palate. Chocolate and smoke finish. Awesome!

Bottle shraed by beastiefan2k: Deep brown/amber with a tan thick head. Rich malty aroma. Peat, plums, tobacco, and vanilla wood undertones. Velvety feel. Richly malty; nice and earthy with an underlying sweet touch of maple and toffee. There’s an overall great earthiness in the late palate of peat, tobacco, and mild hints of smoke. Great stuff!

Shared by beastiefan2k - this one was brilliant - dark brown beer with a purple tint to it - rich aroma, with a wonderful mixture of peaty/smoky smells, and strong dark fruits - soft, silky mouthfeel - dark chocolate and plum are most apparent at first, as the beer begins fairly sweet, but it dries out a bit and the peat/smoke takes over a little more - quite earthy, with warming whiskey character - this is what I want all my scotch ales to taste like.

Bottle generously shared by beastiefan2k. Deep brown colour. Sweet malty aroma, some earthy and plummy sweetness. A touch of soft peatiness with a light brininess as well. Quite balanced. Very drinkable. Dried plums and chocolate. Lovely beer.

Bottle, thanks to beastiefan2k. Dark brown reddish color. Aroma of some smoked peat and peanuts. Very meaty malt flavor, burnt aspects, and some bitter chocolate. Very tasty.
