Commercial Description:
This Divine Reserve was inspired by the winning entry of the 2007 Big Batch Brew Bash homebrew competition, brewed by Mike Heniff, a highly decorated local Houston homebrewer. Russian Imperial Stouts are very big and very black and this one is no exception. DR5 has a rich malty body full of coffee and chocolate flavors and a spiciness derived from the combination hops and high alcohol. It was brewed with a variety of malts including 2 row pale, crystal, chocolate and roasted barley. It was hopped with Nugget, Willamette and Centennial. We used an American ale yeast to ferment it. It is unfiltered. Enjoy at 45°F or warmer with some dark chocolate or a bowl of vanilla ice cream.

Bottle compliments of bu11zeye. Dark, oil black pour with the darkest head I’ve ever seen. Very still. Aroma of milk chocolate, roasted malt and coffee- also some soy sauce. Pleasant flavour with some bitterness compliments of hops and darker chocolate. Pretty easy drinking.

Bottles thanks to miketd and Bu11seye. Blackish pour with a creamy white head. Aroma is thick with coffee, cream, chocolate, summer fruits, and raw sugar. Flavor is dominated by chocolate, cream, coffee - also some cantaloupe & citrusy hops. Overall a pretty good Impy stout thats tasty and smooth.

Bottle courtesy of hellbilly. Black body with thin head. Aroma of oatmeal grain barley with some coffee also. Flavor you could notice the alcohol content at first. Then some good coco and coffee flavor ariived. Good dose of sweetness would of rather had a creamy flavor over the sweet stout presence. Good brew thanks Joshua.

Bottle courtesy Ucusty, pours beautiful deep brown with nice pancake colored head. The nose is coffee, chocolate, and a bit of molasses. The mouthfeel is coating, but a bit sharp in carbonation. The flavor is on the coffee side with an earthiness and molasses. Quite a rich and creamy beer with a hot and slight bitter finish.

Bottle thanks to bu11seye. Really enjoyed this one. Great aroma of roasted malt wrapped in vanilla. Pours black with a fluffy tan head. Taste is very rich in coffee and bitter chocolate flavor, with a hint of vanilla. Very sooth/creamy on palate, with a very biting bitter finish. Would drink again!
