Commercial Description:
This is a big, malty, hoppy barleywine. Yet with all of the intense flavors, they meld together to create a well-balanced big beer. The nose has a strong resiny hop note. The taste starts with a combination of the malty sweetness and spicy hops with both flavors magnified by the high alcohol level. The spiciness carries through the middle and finishes with a satisfyingly dry bitter. It was brewed with 2 row pale, Caramunich and Special B malts with brown sugar added in the kettle and hopped with 225 lbs of Columbus hops including 44 lbs that were dry hopped. We used our Saint Arnold yeast strain which gives a rich, creamy mouthfeel to the brew. It is unfiltered and will clarify with aging. Enjoy at 45°F or warmer. This beer will age well. Original Gravity: 1.094 Final Gravity: 1.019

bottle from mar. Very reminiscent of north coast old stock. A nice barley wine. Sweet, but not overly so.

Bottle thanks to mar Pours a deep reddish brown with a sizeable beige head that lasts the whole way through. Aromas of pine, citrus, and some dark fruits. Flavor is very much the same but with lots of hoppy deliciousness, and wonderful palate! A hop bomb that is very well balanced, Great stuff here!

Many thanks to MaltOMeal!
Near-amber with small, quickly-gone beige head. Lots of citrus and caramel, some slight berries and alcohol. Flavor is super-balanced, citrus bitterness giving way to sugary malts and slight alcohol. With warmth the beer adds some pine throughout. Thin body to go with the fruit, and semi-long finish. Interesting beer.

Courtesy mcbackus. Pours a dark caramel brown, with a small off white head. Smells pretty bready, big yeast, bitter hops, caramel malt, and some dark fruits as well. The flavor is pretty hoppy, morseo than I would expect. The bready yeast flavor I always get was subdued a bit, and the dark fruits and malts comethrough a little more. Fairly standard barley wine for me, and to me most taste similar, but still enjoyable.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with lb4lb (thanks!). Poured a medium and cloudy (initially clear) amberish color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, dark fruits, nuts, citrus, and lightly earthy. Tastes of caramel, dark fruits, same light earthiness, and citrus. Alcohol content well hidden.

Courtesy peter. Hmm, I believe somebody in Houston has been drinking Bigfoot because thats where this beer is going! And thats a good thing. Tawny copper color, medium firm head. Strongly hopped aroma, resiny and citric hops, very fresh, almost fruity character to them. Flavor is fairly balanced, with a tingling citric hoppiness and a full bready sweet malt base that finishes surprisingly light and clean. 10%?! I can hardly tell, it has such a light body and drinks so easily on a sweltering Florida day.
