Jul 7, 2008 Bottle sampled at the 7/5/08 Bocky Bash locals tasting courtesy of Bockyhorsey. Pours a clear amber with off white head and nice lacing. Nose is citrus hops and malt. Taste is citrus, and caramel malts. Tastes more like an IPA. Medium, creamy mouth feel. Good brew.

Jul 7, 2008 I must say I like huge american barley wines, and this rocks! Murky orange pour with a small white head. Huge citrus hop aroma with some caramel and toffee. Flavor follows through with a great hop profile of citrus and a bit of piny hops. Caramel and toffee round it out. Finishes slightly boozy with a nice hop spice. I really dug this one, need more!

Jul 6, 2008 Bottle from mar. Thanks! Pours a deep copper with a large, small-bubbled white head. Aroma is very hop heavy with some nice caramel malt. Flavor is hoppy and bitter with little caramel malt backbone. A bit too hoppy and bitter right now to be considered with some of the best barleywines, but this should be fun to age and he see how it changes.

Jul 5, 2008 Thanks to Beastiefan2k. Poured a hazy deep copper color with a beige head. Big hop forward aroma. Very citrusy with a sweet malt base. The citrus hop flavor is pretty big. The malt just barely shows itself. Medium bodied and a great IIPA right now that should become an even better aged BW with some time on it.

Jul 5, 2008 Amber colored with an off-white head that has no retention or lacing. Smells of orange, tangerine, pine, caramel, and alcohol. Sweet caramel tastes, with pineapple, pine sap, quite resinous. Medium body and carbonation. This was a very enjoyable beer, I think I’ll have to get some for myself. Thanks to pepsican for sharing.

Jul 5, 2008 Bottle from a trade. Aroma is etoh, loads of hops which come through as pine which works perfectly in my opinion. Some malt backbone as well with little sweetness. This will age well, but its missing the chewy dark fruits that would have boasted this one above a 4.

Jul 5, 2008 Thanks to beastiefan2k for sharing - hazy amber beer - kind of herbal and hoppy aroma, with some bright fruity esters and spicy alcohol - quite hoppy and hot flavor - some fruity character underneath, but hops dominate the flavor throughout - there is some sticky sweetness underneath, with notes of caramel, dark fruit - too hoppy right now, but its potential is undeniable - in a few years?

Jul 5, 2008 Thanks to beastiefan2k for sharing. Deep amber pour. Aroma is very hoppy. Sweet citrusy hops and loads of piny columbus/centennial hoppiness. Pineapple, mango and more tropical fruit over the rich sweet maltiness. Toffee and a light plumminess underlying all of the pine and hoppiness. It’s a very nice PNW-style barleywine. This will age very nicely I think... it’d be nice to set this down for five years or so.
