Commercial Description:
This is a big, malty, hoppy barleywine. Yet with all of the intense flavors, they meld together to create a well-balanced big beer. The nose has a strong resiny hop note. The taste starts with a combination of the malty sweetness and spicy hops with both flavors magnified by the high alcohol level. The spiciness carries through the middle and finishes with a satisfyingly dry bitter. It was brewed with 2 row pale, Caramunich and Special B malts with brown sugar added in the kettle and hopped with 225 lbs of Columbus hops including 44 lbs that were dry hopped. We used our Saint Arnold yeast strain which gives a rich, creamy mouthfeel to the brew. It is unfiltered and will clarify with aging. Enjoy at 45°F or warmer. This beer will age well. Original Gravity: 1.094 Final Gravity: 1.019

12 oz bottle. Lucky enough to capture a case of these in Austin. This is a huge beer. The spice of the barleywine style comes through better as the beer approached room temperature. Creamy, big, complex fruits and nice dry bitter to finish. Wish this was available all the time. WOW.

Bottle thanks to Suttree. Hazy brown orange with a light tan cover. Aroma of rum, raisins, caramel, some grassy hops. Taste is more raisins, sweet maltiness, caramel, toffee, fruity, light alcohol is evident in the warmth.

Nice amber orange pour with a small frothy head. Aroma of sweet malt and oranges. Taste of bready yeasty sweet malt tempered by a hop finish. Alcohol is evident and warms you straight through.

12 oz. bottle - thanks to beerlando the trade a while back; pours clear, dark orange with frothy off-white head; lovely aromas of sugar, sweet candy malts; man, this is a tasty little bugger; soft texture is full bodied, rich and smooth; creamy, sugary, super malty; wow, this is a total knockout of a BW and one of the top 4-5 i’ve ever had

12 oz bottle via trade with the member formerly known as thebeercellar, thanks Matt. Pours a murky muddy orange/brown with a large creamy beige head. Aroma had lots of citrus and floral hops, for a barley wine, with some nice malty sweetness in the form of caramel, toffee, molassess and brown sugar. Nice creamy mouthfeel with a good dose of carbonation and some alcohol warming. Flavor of raisin, toffee, bread and alcohol. The alcohol flavor really lingers and takes away from my enjoyment of this one a bit.

Gotta thank Belgianbeergal for this one. Crushed with Jakebra. Huge dark fruit nose. Can’t put my finger on any specific one, but it’s awesome. Flavor is fruity and nicely hoppy. A little boozy, very awesomey. Really liked this barley wine.
