The spice of the barleywine style comes through better as the beer approached room temperature. Creamy, big, complex fruits and nice dry bitter to finish. Wish this was available all the time. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 25, 2009 12 oz bottle via trade with the member formerly known as thebeercellar, thanks Matt. Pours a murky muddy orange/brown with a large creamy beige head. Aroma had lots of citrus and floral hops, for a barley wine, with some nice malty sweetness in the form of caramel, toffee, molassess and brown sugar. Nice creamy mouthfeel with a good dose of carbonation and some alcohol warming. Flavor of raisin, toffee, bread and alcohol. The alcohol flavor really lingers and takes away from my enjoyment of this one a bit. 00cobraR (1098), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
