| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 6, 2009 Slightly hazed orange pour with gooey tan head and lace. Dried fruit, and brown sugar dominate the nose. A very warm beer with metallic hops. A solid maltiness that takes a back seat to the hops and abv. A tad foamy but pretty thick and rich. A damn fine bw. thanks to jcwattsrugger. LtDan (509), LA - Originally from South NJ!, California, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 28, 2009 12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with AmEricanbrew. Pours a very dark amber with a moderate off-white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Very pleasant aroma of caramel, brown sugar, figs, apples, and a few whiffs of alcohol. The flavor is unfortunately nowhere near as complex or inviting as the aroma with caramel and alcohol being the dominant components along with a touch of fruit. Becomes quite dry at the finish with medium bitterness. Somewhat disappointing. GMCC2181 (865), Bear/Elkton, Delaware, USA

Aroma of some small chocolate? Also hops and malty.. Taste is nice hop bite, strong malt backbone to help balance it. Sweet but not sugary. A little warming from the alcohol. Nice texture and carbonation level. Good Barleywine. Thanks wolf. Swolf3 (252), Elkton, Maryland, USA
