Commercial Description:
This is a big, malty, hoppy barleywine. Yet with all of the intense flavors, they meld together to create a well-balanced big beer. The nose has a strong resiny hop note. The taste starts with a combination of the malty sweetness and spicy hops with both flavors magnified by the high alcohol level. The spiciness carries through the middle and finishes with a satisfyingly dry bitter. It was brewed with 2 row pale, Caramunich and Special B malts with brown sugar added in the kettle and hopped with 225 lbs of Columbus hops including 44 lbs that were dry hopped. We used our Saint Arnold yeast strain which gives a rich, creamy mouthfeel to the brew. It is unfiltered and will clarify with aging. Enjoy at 45°F or warmer. This beer will age well. Original Gravity: 1.094 Final Gravity: 1.019

Bottle shared by wolf... Poured into a snifter, nice red color, small head. Aroma of some small chocolate? Also hops and malty.. Taste is nice hop bite, strong malt backbone to help balance it. Sweet but not sugary. A little warming from the alcohol. Nice texture and carbonation level. Good Barleywine. Thanks wolf.

Bottle poured brown with a red tint. Nice off white head. Aroma was strong resin, malt and hops. Taste was sweet, spicy, resiny, along with a touch of alcohol. Finished smooth and a nice barley wine to sip on.

Opaque reddish brown body with a medium sized off-white head. Hoppy nose with loads of sticky sweet caramel and some dark fruit. The flavor very sweet, and moderately bitter with heavy handed amounts of caramel/toffee, lots of grapefruit and pine hops, and a bit of raisin. A bit of cardboard/oxidation is evident. Full body is a tad rough with moderate carbonation and a long finish with chunky bitterness. Alcohol is evident throughout.

Thanks to my bro for hooking this up! Pours a rich brown color with thin white head. Aroma is toffee, alcohol and brown sugar. Taste is brown sugar, toffee, alcohol and strong caramel malt. Alcohol is well balanced and the beer finishes well balanced. Good stuff.

Thanks alexsdad06! Pours a murky brown with a thin off-white ring and a few streaks of lacing. Aroma is a nice blend of caramel malts, and a bit of hoppiness. Taste is caramel malt, brown sugar, and resinous hops. Not bad.

Great bonus from Bobby91w. I finally get to try a beer from Texas. Nice hoppy aroma and just a slight bit of malt, much more hops in the aroma than most Barley Wines. Pours a murky brown. It had a little bit of alcohol burn, but it is strangely smooth and easy to drink. Very good.

12oz bottle courtesy of screach. Pours a reddish dark brown color with a massive tannish-white almost butterscotch head that settles slowly and heavily laces the glass. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of citrus, pine, grapefruit, honey, caramel, and some hints of spice. Flavor is sweet and floral as well with notes of toffee, caramel, honey, citrus, grapefruit, hops, spice, and phenol. Generally medium body with a sweet, floral hops finish. My first St. Arnold beer is a winner for sure.

Brown ruby, with thin tan head. Aroma is caramel, light alcohol, toffee, hoppy. Taste is a light caramel, toffee, with light alcohol and background hoppiness. Similar to bigfoot but sweeter.
