Pours a muddy dark brown with a 1/4’’ tan head. Not a beautiful beer by any means. Nose is banana, clove spice and wheat. Palate is smooth with a moderate amount of carbonation. What this brew lacks in beauty, it makes up for in flavor. Delicious blend of dark wheat, banana, clove, malt with a nice little chocolate undertone. BlackForestCO (828), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

Poured a deep brown color with a moderate off-white head that receded to a thin layer. Aroma of light chocolate, some roasted malt, some spicy (clove) wheat and banana with a moderate yeastiness and a hint of smoke. Smooth, lightly sweet entry leads into a lightly roasted chocolate character with undertones of banana. Finishes with some clove and a moderate yeastiness. Low carbonation, smooth on the palate. Solid weizen, but not very traditional. hapjydeuce (773), Del Mar, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 26, 2008 Sampled at the 2008 Great American Beer Festival. Served at the Pro-Am table. Supposedly a rarity weizen bock. Appearance is similar to an English brown. Fruity aroma of pear and clove with undertones of chocolate muffin. Sweet banana flavor with some raisin and a finishing touc of wheat cereal and toffee. Crosling (1856), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2008 Very dark brown/tawny color with a filmy light tan head. Typical weizen bock aromatic characteristics, with a touch more dark malt and smoke character than usual. Flavor is nicely balanced, with dunkel weiss character along with roast, coffee and dark chocolate. Well, it’s a nice ale, but lets get serious here: It’s no Aventinus, not even close. Thanks to JVD for this one
Bottle poured into a Weizen Glass produced a good finger worth of tan head that lasts on top of a hazy brown body
Aromas of yeasts (bananas and clove) are really big on this one a little over powering if anything
Flavors of roasted grains some chocolate coffee quality’s involved in this one. A nice sweetness also comes out in this from the banana flavors a nice Weisenbock in my book good creamy mouthfeel with good carbonation
Good drinkability on this brew. I really am beginning to like the style and St Arnolds for producing some great brews. If it crosses my path I’ll drink it again

A touch of chocolate and and caramel. Subtle sweet, but full palate. Smooth but the weakest of the Devine Res series IMO. jkwalking05 (1501), Arlington, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 23, 2008 deep cloudy brown color with ruby highlights and a small beige head. Aroma is of bananas, chocolate, yeast and cloves. Taste is of chocolate and bananas, with kind of a burnt/ash-like flavor, some hops and alcohol. Body is moderately thick. Smells quite fruity, dry, and lots of banana. Taste is definitely weizenbock with some dark malts, some clove, wheat, and in-your-face banana that leans heavily toward the fruitiest hefeweizen. Becomes unbearably banana-laden as it warmed up.
