Commercial Description:
This is a dark, slightly chocolatey weizenbock with an undercurrent of bananas and cloves. There is a slight spiciness from the hops and a balanced malt that hides the strength of the beer. It was brewed with Dark Wheat, Light Wheat, Chocolate Wheat, Pilsner, Munich, Special B and Chocolate malts and Northern Brewer hops. We used a traditional Bavarian hefeweizen yeast which gives the beer its distinctive clove and banana character. It is unfiltered. Enjoy at 45°F or warmer. We are curious to see how this beer will age.

Bottle thanks to BMan1113VR: Pours a cloudy dark mahogany with a wispy light tan head. Aroma of sweet dark chocolate and bready Bavarian yeast with some mild roasty notes. Body starts with nice fullness and sweet dark caramel maltiness well balanced with doughy yeasty character and some banana esters. Finishes with some coffee and dark chocolate complexity. Not exactly true to the weizenbock style, but an enjoyable and unique blend of flavors.

12 oz bottle. Black and thick with a nice tan creamy head. Nose is chocolately, a bit alcoholic, malty and sweet. Taste/body starts off fluffy. A bit wheaty, chocolately, sweet and sticky-also a bit hot. Very drinkable for an 8%+ beer-dangerously good. Nice beer and well done.

Got the last two sixers at Mr. G’s. Pours dark black with tan, half-finger head in my orval glass (yeah, wrong glass). Head dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma of bananas, bubblegum, dark fruits and some caramel. Not bad flavor... burnt malts, some spiciness, some alcohol. Chocolate? Some ashiness, but not unpleasant. St. Arnolds has done it again but my least favorite of the divine reserves i’ve tried.... but that has mostly to do with style.

Aroma is of dark fruits, sweet malt, caramel, and a lot of bannanas. Flavor has a lot of coffee, chocolat, dark fruits - raisins come out the most. Starts off a bit sweet then turns a tad bit bitter. Medium body, with light carbonation.

My first impression was WOW! It looks magnificent! It pours a beautiful dark brown to blackish color with a brown sugar thin head. The head fades quikly and leaves very little lace. In the nose are strong notes of bananas (at the right temp.) ,some alcohol, spicy cloves too. Barely some spicy hops in the nose. I can smell you, I know your’e in there! There’s a little chocolate and bananas in the flavor. There are some dark fruits too, like prunes, and chocolate covered raisens. I’m realy into hoppy beers but I can realy enjoy and appreciate beers that arent hoppy but are made with such care and love.

Bottle courtesy of ericandersnavy. Pours brown with a prominent tan head. Smells of wheat, bananas, cloves, bubblegum, molasses, spice. Tastes of chocolate, pepper, some molasses and caramel. Chocolate is up front in this one in a good way.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with lb4lb (thanks!). Poured a deeper and muddy brown color with a smaller sized tan head. Aromas of wheat, chocolate, bananas, some cloves, and light yeast. Aromas on the softer side. Tastes of wheat, cloves, pepper, some other spices, chocolate, bananas, and some caramel. Spices were the stronger of the tastes.
