Aroma of sweet dark chocolate and bready Bavarian yeast with some mild roasty notes. Body starts with nice fullness and sweet dark caramel maltiness well balanced with doughy yeasty character and some banana esters. Finishes with some coffee and dark chocolate complexity. Not exactly true to the weizenbock style, but an enjoyable and unique blend of flavors. bleeng (600), Spring near Beersel, Texas, USA

Nose is chocolately, a bit alcoholic, malty and sweet. Taste/body starts off fluffy. A bit wheaty, chocolately, sweet and sticky-also a bit hot. Very drinkable for an 8%+ beer-dangerously good. Nice beer and well done. rustychiles (1068), Mesa, Arizona, USA

Pours dark black with tan, half-finger head in my orval glass (yeah, wrong glass). Head dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma of bananas, bubblegum, dark fruits and some caramel. Not bad flavor... burnt malts, some spiciness, some alcohol. Chocolate? Some ashiness, but not unpleasant. St. Arnolds has done it again but my least favorite of the divine reserves i’ve tried.... but that has mostly to do with style. m4rest88 (217), Beverly Hills, California, USA

Flavor has a lot of coffee, chocolat, dark fruits - raisins come out the most. Starts off a bit sweet then turns a tad bit bitter.
Medium body, with light carbonation.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 10, 2008 My first impression was WOW! It looks magnificent! It pours a beautiful dark brown to blackish color with a brown sugar thin head. The head fades quikly and leaves very little lace. In the nose are strong notes of bananas (at the right temp.) ,some alcohol, spicy cloves too. Barely some spicy hops in the nose. I can smell you, I know your’e in there! There’s a little chocolate and bananas in the flavor. There are some dark fruits too, like prunes, and chocolate covered raisens. I’m realy into hoppy beers but I can realy enjoy and appreciate beers that arent hoppy but are made with such care and love. Cletus (5060), Connecticut, USA
