For some reason he likes me, I don’t know. Murky dark brown pour. A slight bit of sweet fruit on the nose. Apparently some fruit and esters have been lost over time I am being told. Sour taste right on the upfront. Bitterness that has a rich fruit taste. Improves as it warms. Nice raisin agedness. Bitter finish. Definitely past it’s prime, and probably my least favorite in the DR series. Wonder what it was like back in the day... scrizzz (1286), kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 5, 2009 I get more than a slight amount of chocolate on the nose, shaved and void of sugar. Very dark, small white head. Little dark and chocolatey, then in creeps the banana and clove. Interesting, and this is kinda where I wish more weizen bocks would go. imadeadguy (378), back in NJ!, New Jersey, USA

Aromas of oats, chocolate, and a slight funk. Flavor is watery and bland with some spice and chocolate notes. Not a fan of this one at all, blech. CanIHave4Beers (883), Des Moines, Iowa, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 22, 2009 Sam (ketchepillar) showed up at our door with a couple of bottles of Divine reserve last night, pretty badass! This might have been the first beer that I’ve rated having no clue what the style was, we figured it out though! Pours a deep reddish brown with a small tight head. The aroma is chocolate and cherry with a bit of spiciness and a hint of whiskey. The flavor is very cordial like with some nice cherries and chocolate with some yeasty spiciness. Somewhat sweet but not cloying. Chimpy5 (19), Iowa, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 22, 2009 Called it on the style. Wheat character is similar to NG Black Wheat-has that distinct, and awesome NG wheat character. Although that is just one small portion of a very busy beer. That wheat business works well with some mellow silty chocolate and a nice muted, yet complex malt flavor. anders37 (4700), Malmö, Sweden

Pours a slightly hazy dark amber/brown color with a small off-white head. Has a wheat malty spicy fruity aroma. Sweetish wheat malty spicy flavor with some hints of chocolate. Has a dry bitter wheat malty finish. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 4, 2009 Waxed 12 oz bottle. I don’t recall who sent this to me, but THANKS! Dark brown, almost black pour with a tight, thin, beige head. Big nutty nose, some chocolate and caramel with an underlying fruitiness. Roasty chocolate flavors, something fruity late, burnt wheat and toffee. Damned interesting brew!
