12 oz bottle given to me by Kaggie97. Pour is a slight hazed ruby orange copper with a 2 inch golden tan head. Aroma of grainy earthy malt, sharp peat and dusty / dirty floral heather type sweetness. Sweet is muted, mostly about the big malt and peat. Taste is the nose, with big grainy malt and peat, followed by a bright floral heather sweetness. Hint of alcohol in the back, though this complements the peat nicely. Palate is medium, perhaps a tad lighter than I was expecting. Nice active carbonation makes this one easy to drink. Dec 24, 2009 Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a cloudy reddish brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly diminished with good lacing. Medium toasted malt and earthy aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. A solid complex brew.

Dec 22, 2009 Bottle. Apple/apricot barley malt and light alcohol aroma. Cloudy amber with small head. Sweet peach/apple, barley malt flavor with alcohol finish. Nice beer.

Dec 18, 2009 12oz bottle from santa. Smells of light caramel and toast..wait, there are some def roasted chili notes here as well..odd....pours a dark cloudy brown note with a small head. Palate is full and clean in the finish. flavors are a roated burnt note with some nice toast malt notes and some caramel notes.

Dec 17, 2009 12 oz. pours a hazy rubied dark amber. big, dense, slightly fizzy tan head. forward, full shortbread nose with caramel and toffee undertones. smoke and peat there as well. creamy medium body with plenty of carb. butterscotch, caramel, peat, and smoke on the mid palate. long sweet smoky finish.

Dec 17, 2009 Bottle [12oz] shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- c/o garthicus. Pours a murky orange-brown with a small creamy tan head. Aroma: Hmmm, interesting: Roasty and sweet along with smoke, caramel malt and some light hops. Flavour of caramel malt along with smoke, some fruit and light hops. Medium bodied, oily mouthfeel. Very good stuff, well done.

Dec 13, 2009 bottle courtesy of boomer0813, thank you! pour is amzing! pours a dense orange brownish with tons of striations and crazy woodgrain like patterns throughout the pour! like nothing i’ve ever seen, awesome. aroma is sweet, malty, a hint of scotch/buttered rum. taste is a lil too sweet for me, but not all for this style, actually one of the better scotch ales i’ve had due to not being overly sweet. nice spicy notes, estery tinges, and even some nice tobacco notes. the mouthfeel is very nice, balanced, rich. it starts a bit lively, then quickly mellows into a soft creamy mid and finish. way to represent H-Town!

Dec 7, 2009 Bottle from ericandersnavy. Thanks a whole lot guy! Pours ruby orange with a five-finger off-white head. Smells like creme brulee. Medium body with virtually no carbonation. Really smooth caramel with peachy notes. It is one of a kind. Tobacco notes. After a long time - smoke. Where was that?
