Commercial Description:
A kolsch-style ale. When you need a beer after mowing the lawn, don't drink one of the mass produced beers, reach for this "fancy" lawnmower beer.

As far as Kolsch’s are concerned, this is an average example of the style. However, I am not a big advocate of the style, and the Crooked River Kolsh is the best I have sampled to-date.

Bottle from faggie97: Im drunk and have been cooking thanksgiving dinner for what seems like days...there was a hole in the roasting pan so the pan juice that is escaping through the hole and hitting the oven floor has caused the house to fill with smoke. I feel as though I may die any second now. I puked this morning for the first time in years. This beer pours golden yellow and clear with just a ring of white suds atop. Smells sweet, lagery, and with a bit of corn. Flavors are sweet and corn-like but other than that, its fairly clean. Carbonation is piercingly high..and it works here as any less would make the stylistic flavors stand out too much. Drink cold, drink fresh, drink fast...and yee shall be fine.

Sample at GABF 2009. Pours a light yellow to golden color with thin head. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of honey, bread, yeast, grass, light floral hops. Flavor is about the same. Light body with watery finish.

First beer I ever tried from Saint Arnold (on tap at a Houston Astros baseball game). Light yellow pour - light "lawnmower" taste. Pretty much what you would expect from a lawnmower beer. Nothing fancy, but would do in a pinch.

Sample at the Texas Beer & Brats tasting 10/11/2009. This beer pours a mostly clear yellow color with a medium thin and somewhat fizzy white head that burns away quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt and grassy hops. Light body with flavors of grassy hops, citrus and malt. The finish is mildly spiced hops with a lightly bitter finish. Average Kölsch overall.

Pours a vivacious soft yellow with a mild haze. Head is one finger thick fizzy and white. Nose is bready, sweet malt, some hay, and a mild fruity sweetness. Flavor is bready, has a nice unexpected fruity aspect, sweet, extremely mild fruity character. Palate is crisp and refreshing. Very drinkable.

Bottle shared by Dogbrick. Clear yellow pour with a medium white head. Grainy malt aroma with a touch of hop. Sweet malt flavor with some crisp hops on the back end.

Thanks to ericandersnavy for this bottle! Pours a light, slightly hazy gold with a minimal white head. Light bready aroma with a touch of citrus. Medium body with sparkling carbonation. Flavor is mild biscuit and something very like noble hop. On the dry side.

A light, refreshing beer with just a hint of hops. I actually mowed the lawn with one of these. It does its job.
