HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Oct 30, 2009 Bottle ( 12oz ). Shared by garthicus with me and blankboy. Light amber with a small frothy off-white head. Pungent and oily aroma (Goldings?), definitely cereal grain, a hint of iron/mineral. The taste is simple and clean - cereal grain, light floral bitterness with just a little citrus zestiness and roast, light alcohol presence. Slightly watery mouthfeel, mildly carbonated, with a fairly quick balanced finish - decent enough, that mineral aroma is a bit odd ... beerbill (1919), Laurel, New York, USA Oct 30, 2009 12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with blutt59. Pours a mostly clear orange gold with a thin-moderate tan head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left no lace. There is hardly any aroma to this beer. A few deep inhales reveals some very mild malt and that’s about it. Thankfully, this beer is more flavorful than the aroma suggests with malt, caramel and just a bit of brown sugar. Very mild bitterness at the finish. Not bad. garthicus (1216), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 28, 2009 Thanks to Blutt59. Appearance: Slightly cloudy orange/cherry with a small off white head. Aroma: Pepper, toffee, alcohol, some nuttiness. Flavour: Nutty, caramel, a dash of apple and a nice amount of malt. fata2683 (837), Panama City, Florida, USA Oct 25, 2009 bottle, pours hazy amber with a medium off white head. Yeasty orange and nut aroma. Smooth creamy body of sweet orange juice and malt with a mild alcohol finish and a peppery spice in the end. Nice. ansermadide (496), Kyle, Texas, USA Oct 17, 2009 Sample at October 16, 2009 Beer Club Meeting. Amber color beneath a quickly receding head. Looks malty. Aroma of amber malt. Flavor is sweet ... the underside of my tongue is sweating. Almost has a smoky flavor to it. Dense... not bad. Birdiebeagle (778), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 29, 2009 Bottle form my buddy Bob, thanks. Pours a hazy amber with a thin off white head which leaves quickly. Leaves just rings of lacing. Has a faint aroma of caramel, some hops, and barley. Need to let this one settle and warm up for aromas. Has a decent carbonation. The flavor is decent and this is very refreshing. Nothing jumps out at you but its tasty. Has a medium body. The texture is watery. Has an okay finish with a light aftertaste. BrewingFan (45), Texas, USA Sep 17, 2009 Thanks to a certain Beer Company in Boston, I am a huge Oktoberfest fan. I am also a big supporter of local breweries. I got a keg of this stuff last year 08 and it was great, but this year 09 I picked up a 6 pack early and it is a big disappointment. Clearly not as good of a batch as it was last year, not quite sure what they changed. Looking forward to 2010...
