Pretty glowing orange color. As it warmed it was not the same....drink cold. Feinschmecker (188), Seattle, Washington, USA

Amber/ orange appearance with a malty aroma. Flavor is dominated by the caramel flavor malt. This one is a strange interpretation. It reminds me of a brown ale and not a classic Oktoberfestbier. It is not bad but just not what I expect. DrBayern (1137), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 19, 2007 12 oz. bottle from lb4lb. Very faintly hazy orange/amber with a medium off white head of short duration. Grainy aroma with some toffee notes. Medium body and carbonation, smooth mouthfeel. There is a certain harshness in the flavor that accompanies the caramel sweetness, and a bit of spicy bitterness at the end. This just doesn’t have the full round malty sweetness of the classic Oktoberfest. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 17, 2007 Cloudy amber pour with a fluffy beige head. Malty, sweetness on the nose. Tastes was a light bodied maltiness, with some almost tartness as well. Perhaps biscuity malt flavored. Somewhat of a quick light finish. Not a bad beer, but not one of my prefered styles either. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 10, 2007 Flavor is initially malty, caramel, cookie-like. Then the spice rounds it out and stays in your mouth. Good. TheEpeeist (1461), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 3, 2007 12 oz bottle. Not quite clear orange brown with an ivory head. Faint caramel and green apple. Taste is woody, sour golden raisin and marmalade with green plum tang. Bit of treacle and zwieback to finish. djd07 (741), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 22, 2007 Bottle. Pours a very cloudy copper orange color with a small off white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is malty with hints of a caramel. Decent lacing on this one. The taste is sweet and fruity and a spicy finish. A very good marzen from saint arnold, would love to try it on tap. RollinHard (761), Fort Worth, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 16, 2007 Pours a reddish orange coppery color, pretty clear, dissipating head. Aroma of toffee, toast, maybe brown sugar and butter? Seems a little sweeter than usual on the nose, and the taste follows suit. flavors of toffee, caramel and wheat bread are the most apparant, while the expected toastier malt flavors take a backseat. Finishes with that weird sweet buttery sourdough bread taste that most Saint Arnold beers do. Thick body, but not very creamy. Feels a little too sticky for the style, but I appreciate its bigness. The finish is a little off and aroma doesn’t do much either way, but I enjoy the flavor and the thickness. A decent beer, but Elissa and Divine Reserve are what Saint Arnold is all about.
