Commercial Description:
An authentic, German-style Bock, celebrating the coming of spring. This strong, deeply flavored lager has been aged to create a smooth, malty taste with a hint of sweetness. A light addition of German hops balances the malt flavor. Saint Arnold Spring Bock is best consumed at 40° Fahrenheit.

Bottle. Foggy amber color. Carbonated head - very bubbly. Sweet-Sour smell, almost like sourdough bread. Bitter taste - I do not like this taste at all! This beer tastes like Belgium beers smell. It tastes a little similar to that garbage smell - almost like it started to go bad. At least there is little to no aftertaste. Flavor is there but isnt good - it is sour and a bit "off"

Muddy orange, brown pour with a medium yellowish tan head. Smell is slightly sour, sweet and strange, and may be coming from the yeast or perhaps its from being a bit old. Almost a teriyaki or soy smell/flavor. Taste is similar to the smell, oddly sweet, and not particularly pleasant. Didn’t taste like the 2 other Heller Bocks I’ve had. Unusual and sort of hard to describe, but I wasn’t impressed and didn’t finish it.

Clear amber body, creamy/frothy light tan head. Aroma has slight bock-style hopping and some caramel. Initial taste is grassy stale caramel with a slight astringent aftertaste. Okay flavor, a little sweet and malt has a stale component which almost has a smoked scotch-styling.

On tap at BJ’s Pinellas Park. Pours copper with tan head. The aroma is light and seems like sugary sweet malts and table sugar with hints of alcohol. The flavor is candi sugar, beat sugar and sugary sweet malts. Yep it’s a sweet beer. I also get a light, very light actually, caramel about midway that leads into an alcohol note. Not terribly impressive.

Good aroma of caramel and grassy sweet hops. This beer is thick and rich, with caramel undertones and a very sweet malt. Balance is a little off, but on the whole it’s a good, hearty spring beer. Watch the blue bonnets pop up and relax with this beer.

Bottle. Poured a reddish orange color with lots of carbonation. Aroma of grapes and malt. Taste is nice and smooth. It has a very strong grape finish and a lot of carbonation. Went I went to the brewery I had it on tap and I would prefer to have it in the bottle cause it has more of a grape hint then the draft one does.

On tap at the Flying Saucer in Ft. Worth. Amber pour with small head. Malty aroma. Taste was caramel malt, grassy hops and a touch of honey. Smooth and mellow brew.

A very simple lager, with a somewhat un-noteworthy aroma and flavor. Good, just not great. Good balance between the malt flavors and the hoppy finish.
