GreatLibations (1265), Sasquatcho, Arizona, USA Jun 23, 2008 TB, Text Book-Tim Burgess-same thing. Pours creamy yellow with a tall lasting head. Good lacing with aromas of barnyard hops. Medium nectar with good residual carbonation. Malty sweetness balanced by fresh grassy hops. Goes down like cold milk after a plate of the finest Mexican food. The finish lingers with citrus rind. A rather nice specimen worthy of a better score.
yngwie (3529), Kristiansand, Norway Sep 1, 2008 Bottle. Clear, pale golden body with a white head. Cellarish, plastic-like aroma with pale malt. Pale malt, some fruits and hops, and a little note of plastic in the flavor. Thin body and not much bitterness. I was hoping for a crisper, hoppier and more pronounced beer. Disappointing. As I’m so much against the grain, it would be lovely to have another. (080822) RCL (1020), Boston, Massachusetts, USA Aug 30, 2008 Excellent, underrated pils. Bready with herbal hops. Nice and hoppy for the style. TomDecapolis (2416), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 25, 2008 Thanks to hopdog for the bottle. Pours a lightly hazy golden with a medium bubbly/creamy white head that left some lacing. Aroma of mixed citrus, some noble hop character, grassy, vegetables and some breast sweet malts. Flavor of noble hops, grassy, pepper, bready, but a little sweet for the style. Maybe I’m spoiled by having two of the finest American Craft Beer Pilsners so accessible to me (Prima and Pikeland), buy the Saint Arnold misses the mark a bit. yespr (6373), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 24, 2008 12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a fully diminished white head. Fruity and mild sweet aroma. Mild fruity and malty base flavour. Light ananas fruity hops accent with a mild hoppy note. Mild fruity finish with a mild sweetness. BlackForestCO (521), Fort Collins and Black Forest, Colorado, USA Aug 16, 2008 Bottle thanks to lb4lb, once again, thanks Deniz. Poured a thin, pale yellow color with a thick white head that stuck around for a while and left some decent lacing as it diminished. Aroma of pilsener malt, wheat, light citrus, and some light grassy hops. Crispy, citric entry with some moderate wheat and a lightly spicy pilsener malt presence and a nice floral hoppy finish. Crisp and easy drinking, would definitely be good on a hot summer day. This is probably underrated due to style.
