Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of over ripe fruits. And the flavor is pretty much like the aroma.

Bottled. Reddish brown coloured. Unclear. Light brown head. Sweetness, light roast and light caramel in the nose. Flavour is light roasted, has some coffee and caramel. Rather sweet. Medium bodied. Sweetish light roasted caramel end.

Poured dark brown with a fairly large dissipating tan head. Aroma of butterscotch, toast, black coffee. Taste seems oddly fruity at first, maybe the slightest hints of raspberries or apples or something. Otherwise, there’s some coffee, bread, butterscotch. Finishes a little roastier and cloying, which was the one thing about Divine Reserve 4 I didn’t like. It’s a non-sweet sort of cloying, almost salty in a weird way. Not all that good. Too much butterscotch, weird fruit, and undeserved cloying. I’ll have some Zonker stout instead.

Not all the description makes it out to be, but I feel a very underrated brew. Pours a deep red/black body with a nice creamy tan head. Lacing is good. Body isn’t quite as creamy as I would expect, making it a little too light on the palate for a stout. Flavor isn’t complex, but very nice, hints of roasted and chocolate barley. Slightly sweet caramel flavor. Not much in the way of aroma, slight chocolate smell, but hard to notice much of anything. A very nice offering from Saint Arnold.

A much better beer than its average rating on this site would suggest. There’s no accounting for tastes, I suppose.

Bottle from decatursteveo - thanks! Pours a clear blackish brown with a thin tan head and garnet highlights. Nice aroma with vanilla, coffee, roasty malt and a bit of chocolate. And maybe just a hint of bandaid. The body is creamy medium with light carbonation. The taste is carrying the same tune as the aroma, with a bit of caramel tossed in for harmony. Not much of a finish, just a bit of smoke and a hint of bitterness before this one kinda slides into nothingness. Although this beer is treading that uneasy territory between porter and stouts, it also seems like it would be sessionable. Oh, and 45 degrees is too cold for serving this beer.

Black pour with a creamy looking tan head that quickly fades. Flavor is roasted coffee and some chocolate. Palate is a bit thinner than expected – it is advertised as a loosely filtered stout. Flavor is roasted coffee and bitterness, some dark chocolate. Nice bitter finish.

THis beer pours black with a very thin tan head, not like most good stouts. THe aromas are of roasted coffee and chocolates. The flavors emulates this but there is a little sweetness to it. All in all this is a very thin and weak stout. Not very good at all (good thing I just bought a single to try it out!) Cheers!
