| 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Feb 20, 2006 Thanks to kaggie97 for this one. Poured dark brown with a tan head. Aroma was sour dark fruits, some slight chocolate, and PLYWOOD. Flavor has a little coffee at first, but that quickly fades into pure garbage cardboard. I was drunk when I tasted this, but it was still god aweful. It was water and so bad I looked forward to my BMC palate cleanser. Stale, wood, and cardboard are the 3 words I would use to describe this one. Jokes (1453), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 20, 2006 Draught. Heavy, dark black with a thick, well-packed espresso-foam head. Aroma of caramel, cocoa, light coffee, slight lactic-acid, some cardboard and a hint molasses-esque sweetness. The body is pretty full and robust, with soft carbonation and a nice weight on the tongue. The flavors are OK, but nothing special. The sweetness is subdued, as is the roasted coffee bitterness. The mild lactic acid character isn’t terrible, but I wonder if it really belongs here. Perhaps it was an old keg or dirty lines or something, but it seems out of place. It’s not terrible, but it’s not the most outstanding experience either. Here’s to the hope that the acidity is not the fault of the brewer. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 2, 2006 Light malty aroma, with a bit of chocolate and malted milk. Mild bitter hops but very weak, on top of some balsamic vinegar. Dark brown-black liquid with thin off-white head. Medium to light watery body with medium to heavy carbonation. Starts with a little sweetness and carbonic acidity. Dose of balsamic vinegar and very little bitterness. Some chocolate and toffee but muted. A wolf in sheep’s clothing. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 27, 2005 Updated: Jan 26, 2006Tap at Flying Saucer in H town. Body was black with ruby highlights and a tan head. Taste is quite weak, but had some brown sugar and roasted grain notes. Mouthfeel was full and viscous, with low carbonation. Might be a bit young? Anyway, I was dissapointed.
However the beer I got from the bottle was much better. Aroma not nearly as subdued, it was fresh, of clean yeast, and roasty. Taste was more pronounced as well, astringent roastyness comes through along with some coffee. Much better experience from the bottle.
