2008 Bottle. Pours with a light brown head that fades over a dark brown body. Decent lacing. Aroma of dirt, roast and light smoke. Taste is caramel, roast, and has a malt profile similar to their brown ale. Fizzy and dry mouthfeel. Very sessionable.

bottle thanks to swalden28. poured a dark brown almost black with a tan head. aroma of caramel, dark roasts, hops, and a touch of chocolate. flavor was dark roasts, chocolate, and some bitter. kinda thin for a stout and had high carbonation. not bad but was hoping for better.

This yours brew even better than last years. Pours relatively light for a stout, with less aroma than you would expect, but delivers great flavor. Strong malty flavor from start to finish with a great mouthfeel and finish. I wonder if this beer would do better marketed as a porter, however.

Pours almost black with a thick, creamy beige head. Faint aromas of toffee and caramel and little else. Huge toasty malt flavor up front, with a husky astringency in the middle. Fully, creamy body and an almost smoky finish. Not a stellar beer but deserves better ratings than it gets.

The first stout I have ever had the lets light through. Decent amount of stout aromas and flavors (dry chocolate and coffee notes).

Pours black with foaming brown head, that quickly dissipitates. Neutral aroma, faint roast. A bit thin mouthfeel, with ground powdered coffee taste, backed by malt. OK, but rather plain stout. Carbonation is fine.
