bottle pours translucent red, black with substantial tan head. nice dry coffee aroma. taste brings in some roasted malt, maybe a slight chocolate. the palate is thin - reminds me more of a porter than a stout. decent flavors and not a bad beer to kick back, but not what i expect from a stout.

Did not like this at all. Pours a dark black brown color with a medium to large tan head that last a decent while. Smells of dark chocolate malt and some what of a sour bitter unknown sent. Taste is creamy and not very good. There is no roasted or caramel notes here it seems to be all oatmeal used in the brew process which makes it smooth in the mouth but the taste is really lacking. Very sub par especially because I know Saint Arnold can do much better.

12 oz bottle. Black pour with a nice brown head that faded. Poured a bit cold with a chocolate, malty, burnt nose. Taste of burnt malts, chocolates, caramel, with a pleasant, medium body. A solid, session stout and this has improved over the years. My one sixer was gone-and no others were to be found-damn....

Thanks to lb4lb. Black pour, medium almond head. Aroma is sugary with a good amount of fruity esters. Flavor is milk chocolate upfront which leads to some caramel even some citrus hops and more bittersweet chocolate then it takes a turn to the chalky side. It starts off chocolatey but is thin and has low carbonation which then finishes chalky. Not bad but just finishes too dry and the body is too thin, not a whole lot going on.

Not bad.... flavor of dark roast grains with some fruity notes. Pours a very deep dark ruby color with good tan head with nice retention. Evenly balanced sweetness with nice bitterness.....would buy again...

black pour with some khaki lacings. nice creamy smell of chocolate and coffee. nice thickness with a slight malt taste but the chocolate really takes over.

Pours a dark brown with a medium tan head. The smell is very malty, with the flavor be predominately roasted chocolate and coffee malts. It has a nice consistency; not overpowering like some stouts, but not to watered down. Definitely worth a try.

Pours dark brown with a hint of red and a white head. Smells of cocoa, some roasty hints. Tastes of chocolate, cherries, citrus, light tartness and hints of bitterness. Average.
