Jan 17, 2009 (12oz bottle) Small creamy beige head atop cola-black body. Aroma is medium sweet, roast/coffee, some chocolate. Taste is medium sweet, chocolate, coffee/roast, light caramel, syrup. Smooth light-medium body, light syrup, easy drinking.

Feb 3, 2008 12oz bottle acquired in trade with lb4lb (thanks!). Poured a deeper reddish / brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of roast, earthy (like a pile of raked leaves in the fall), and some chocolate. Tastes of roast, chocolate, and a trace of coffee.

Mar 23, 2008 Bottle... Black ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The aroma is a touch metallic, but also wafts interesting notes of chocolate, blackberries and blueberries. Medium-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Well-balanced flavor, but bland. There are suggestions of oxidation, but inoffensive overall. Finishes bittersweet and vinous.
