| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 3, 2008 12oz bottle acquired in trade with lb4lb (thanks!). Poured a deeper reddish / brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of roast, earthy (like a pile of raked leaves in the fall), and some chocolate. Tastes of roast, chocolate, and a trace of coffee. hopscotch (5483), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 23, 2008 Bottle... Black ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The aroma is a touch metallic, but also wafts interesting notes of chocolate, blackberries and blueberries. Medium-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Well-balanced flavor, but bland. There are suggestions of oxidation, but inoffensive overall. Finishes bittersweet and vinous.
