| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 12, 2009 Deep brown in colour with a thin but lasting tan head, light lacing.
Aroma is fairly smooth, lightly roasty, some chocolate, liquorice and alcohol.
Flavour is quite sweet, lots of noticeable alcohol, liquorice, dark fruits and christmas cake.
Fairly smooth mouthfeel which surprised me considering the amount of alcohol in this, medium/large body, moderate carbonation.
Finishes long, warm and roasty.
Its a nice attempt but the alcohol is taking away any richness that this might have had.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 7, 2009 On tap at Church Key DC: Pours a clear dark mahogany with a small covering of light tan head. Has a semi-sweet dark caramel malty nose with some raisin fruitiness and a touch of brown sugar and roasted malt. Starts with decent fullness and some sweet chewy malts along with some milk chocolate flavor before a fairly smooth (given the abv) brown sugar finish. A pretty good imperial porter that really seems to hide its alcohol well. HogTownHarry (4025), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 20, 2009 Draught. Mondiale 2009 - day 3. Thin-looking black pour with an average fizzy tan head. Nice dry, slightly boozy aroma or cocoa and fruit. Taste - BOOZE - like burnt prison raisin jack - hidden behind the alcohol was just some tart fruit and light sweetness. Boozy, thin, overcarbonated mouthfeel, with a long burnt/boozy finish. WTF? not great, way, WAY too hot. lefossoyeur (70), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 16, 2009 Dark brown with a small brown head. Nose of wet wood, and alcohol. Pretty thin for a 14,9º beer, with notes of licorice and some chocolate malt. This beer is extreme but not too well balanced for my taste. It lacks some richness that would make it a great sipping beer on a cold autumn night. It’s rather an heavy alcohol straightforward dark brown ale... Quevillon (1537), Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 11, 2009 Drank at the Saint Bock, October 10, 2009, on tap (12 oz oak aged) at their third birthday. Extremely dark brown, a little head. Aroma of malted barley and sweet liqueurs, hints of licorice. Flavor of toasted barley, very licoreur with notes of ripe red fruits, the alcohol is there (14.9%) but not too much. Delicious and decadent! blankboy (3250), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 13, 2009 Bottle at ’Mondial de la Biere 2009’, Montréal, QC. Pours a dark brown/black with an average size frothy tan head. Aroma of roasted dark malt and alcohol along with oak and vanilla -- good, but award winning? Flavour follows the aroma but man oh man it’s boozy! Way too much so, it’s hard to drink. Medium to full bodied. It’s good but far from the best of the fest, it’s much too over the top. mabel (2626), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Dark brown body with no lasting head. Long roast throughout flavour with caramel peat and some sweet roast malt after. Medium-full body. Average.
