Appearance is cola colored, clearly the brown ale coming through. A tan head. Flavor is a definite combination of brown ale and IPA. Both styles come through and even compliment each other. Pine and floral hops blended well with the sweeter toasty brown flavors. tjthresh (1778), Greenfield, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 22, 2009 Pours a clear nutty brown with a dense khaki head. The nose is hoppy like some of the finest IPAs with just a hint of malt character. The flavor seems to be loaded with citrus and pine. This is quite west coast style. Easy drinking and realy prettyt darn good. scoobyluv (486), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA

Fresh grapefruity resiny hoppy nose has good light caramely sweetness. Body starts fairly full and toasty caramely sweet with lots of fresh, assertive piny grapefruity hops before a drier, crisp bittersweet finish. A good brew. jcwattsrugger (5532), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 16, 2008 A dark brown appearance with a white head. The aroma contains some nutmeg, molasses, and caramel. The flavor is less sweet than expected. Some nutmeg, chocolate, and caramel. Oddly slightly bitter in the finish. Overall this was an above average brown. hayduke (1659), Eureka, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 11, 2008 This came on draft from the brewpub. I was at a table so cannot tell if it came from a cask. It was dark brown with a robust tan head and good lacing. Nose of malts and hops with some nuts. Smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is hoppy with a bitter finish. An interesting version of a brown ale, and I like the extra hops. Good brew. kidmartinek (988), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 10, 2008 On cask at the tap room. A dark brown cloudy ale with a big foamy head. The aroma is hoppy and bitter like an IPA. Clean malt is in the aroma and so is hops and a lot of them. The flavor is delicious like an IPA with a small hop backbone. The texure is smooth and clean and finish is all malt. Kinda weird.
