very dark brown colour, big creamy head, spicy aroma (cloves and ginger) notes of coffee, very smooth and creamy, malty, dry bitter plumy finish - well-balanced

Nearly black brown; small yellowish head. Spicey - as tandoori herbs, or the coriander-mint-yoghurt sauce coming with the poppadums. Further some dark malts, but restrained. I know there’s thyme in it - and one can taste it: it gives the taste of a spiced roastbeef crust and gravy, in an (again) Indian tandoori way. Well bodied, nearly chewy. Amazing how this thymol can give (in combination with the beer) a multitude of flavours. This is a very nice beer, actually.

[1167-20080301] Bottle. Ginger spice aroma is mostly lasagna and bready yeast grains with some alcohol. Cloudy, dark brown body with a medium-lasting creamy light tan head. Spicy Christmas gingerbread man flavour. Medium-full body. Yum!

Consumed at Bier Circus, Brussels. This dark brown beer poured with almost no head (I believe this bottle had aged for a while). It is quite spicy with a slight licorice taste.

Light cloudy, red-brown coloured beer with a very small head. Spicy and herby aroma and taste. Could be coriander and thyme. Light bitter all the way.

2008-03-01. Brown body, I got a murky end of the bottle sample I think, tan head. Sweet and lightly spicy aroma, ginger. Ginger starts slow but grows in both the aroma and flavour, sweet underlying malt, lingering impressiong of ginger and spice. Average plus palate (3+). Not bad.
Bottle at Zythos Festival, St. Niklaas

ZBF 2005. Pours dark brown, with a beige head. Aroma is spicy and sweet. Taste is sweet and round malty, and spicy, with a long lingering sweet aftertaste
