Bottle.Quite citric aroma, candy sugar, tulips(?). Hazy red, failing creamy brown head. Clayish minerally up-front, sweet chocolate, licorice, herbal earthy hops. Citric, metallic finish and aftertaste. Deceptively light body, sparkly - feels a but too thin on the palate though, in my mind a Dubbel is somewhat creamy.

Bottle. The best from saint Monon so far. Lots of aroma and lots of tast. Pretty long finish too.

Bottle was 4 months out of date. Aroma gives forest fruits, brambels and blackberrys, giving a vinous tartness, a little aging too. Taste is similar with a little almonds from what seems to eb the agingness. Outstanding.

Dark brown and full of sediment. The head is off-white and diminishes quickly. Aroma has yeast, dark fruit and a little vinegar. Lots of taste; something different seemed to emerge every sip. A chocolate, porter-type taste was the main feature, but there was also sourness, yeast, liquorice, a sweet maltiness and some background bitterness.

Bottle shared by goldtwins: Transparent copper mahogany pour has a nicely-lacing off-white head. Dark semi-sweet malty aroma has a touch of tart dark fruit and mild oxidation. Body starts with nice malty sweetness and good spice balance with some bready yeastiness. An enjoyable Belgian brown ale.

Poured a golden brown color with a small cream colored head. Sweet aroma of aged malt and mollasses. Flavor starts a little sweet and fruity and finishes up dry. Light carbonation. I believe this bottle had a few years on it.

Dark copper brown, mostly vanishing head. Spicey, a bit barnyardish aroma, lots of clove. Dry, spicey, a bi roasted with long spiecy aftertaste, Does not show alcoholi much, very Christmasy.

Nutmeg in the nose, like a fruitcake. Dark brown color, sticky beige head. Sweet molasses and caramel malt body, cinnamony. Like a xmas beer. Big taste, good after dinner beer. Cheers.
