On the label, Dolmenius St-Monon. A hazy orange colored beer, with a big beige head. It disappears quickly. The aroma of sweet fruits, like peach. Some spices in the back. The taste of sweet fruits, citrus and peach. A little bitter with some coriander. The aftertaste is sweet with a little bitter.

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Hazy amber red colour with very thin beige head. Woody aroma. It’s got some orangey type fruit in the mouth, with some malt to back it up. Unfortunately the woodyness dominates and makes it, if not unpleasant to drink, then less appealing.

Bottle, bought @ Willems, Grobbendonk.
[thanks to Skou for bringing this home to me]
Pours fine orange (not really amber) with a small, fizzy, off-white head. Aroma has lots of oranges, light citric, some biscuity malts and yeast. Medium to high carbonation, rather watery palate. Flavour is sweet, light bready and biscuity malts mixing with fruity esters and light hops. Fairly drinkable, but not terribly exciting.

Amber colored brew. Fruity, yeasty aroma. Flavor is yeasty, some citrus, some sweetness, a bit wheat. Kinda nice, but thin.

Tasted in 2004: Orange color, a bit cloudy. Vanilla and orange aroma. Just a bit yeasty flavor with vanilla, cinnamon and orange. Not bad, even has a bit of complexity.

In short: A somewhat annoying fruity (marmalade and jelly!!) Belgian amber ale. Bof
How: Bottle 330ml. Consumed when almost 1 year of age but still 1.5 year before best-before date
The look: The gushing bottle poured a cloudy orange-brown body with lops of particles and a medium off-white head
In long: An light inoffensive nose of fruit dessert. Taste is a bit annoying and I could feel that this wasn’t a problematic bottle, I believe this is the unfortunate intended result. A strong marmalade character with apple jelly and toffee. Very yeasty. Light floral hops presence. For a Belgian ale this one has a body that is a lot less lively than average. By the end of the bottle I was getting used to this surprising marmalade/jelly/toffee mixture but this is really not something I want to have again. A hard to come by little beer. Fortunately.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Smell is malts, sweetness, band aids, belgian, but not that good. Look is dark golden to orange with not much head. Taste is malty, caramel, belgian, and yeast.
