Saint-Monon Spéciale Noël

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Ruby clear, thin lasting beige. Mint choc chip and fruit on aroma. A bit like that in the mouth too. Definite milk choc, some cherry and a bit of mint. A think you would call it a bit of a curate’s egg. I suppose it’s the spices that give it that minty edge. Drinkable, but bloody odd. I do quite like it. Does have a quality. Character, which I like.

ZBF09. Hazy dark brown colour. Good spicy flavour, but it ends with some strange herbal note. Hint of sweet malt, mostly dark. A little yeast in the finish.

Pours hazy amber with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is sweet and spicy. Good caramel backbone with coriander dominating the well-dosed Christmas spices. Highish carbonation, still a fine mouthfeel. Very fat caramel as the main flavour, light sweet coriander and cardemum. The spices end up making the finish quite dry.

33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex, cloudy, nearly no head, nice X-Mas brew

From bottle, 33 cl. Bought @ Drive in Clabecq. Unclear darkbrown color, medium light brown head. Aroma liquorice, roasted malts, spice Medium body. Taste liquorice, dried fruits, spices. sweetness and yeasty end.

Hazy brown colored pour with medium sized head. Fruity, malty, spicy aroma with a spiced, malty finish.

75 cL bottle, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium. Pours deep amber to brown with a dense light orange/brown head. Dried fruity aroma. Flavour is mild yeasty spiced, very mild smoked note on top of the malt. Finish is softly spiced with a lingering spice note.
