Bottle at Pub Heaven, Nice, France. Pale golden, small white head. An ordinary lager, some malt, some hops. Refreshing a hot day but not that much more...

750ml bottle. Golden, fizzing, lacy. Smells waxy and grainy like a ’Polish Strong’. It’s all vaguely smoky, buttery whiskeyish malt and no hops. Faint apple and alcohol. Unpleasantly bitter. One-dimensional and dull.

Bottle from a Co-op in Nottingham, reduced from £1.29 to £0.86. And very rightly too. Gold with a roasted malt aroma. Taste is sweet and toasty with little bitterness. Nothing else to report. Except don’t pay £1.29.

Bottle. Slightly hazy golden colour with a large white head. Aroma of light yeast, malt and fruits. Sweet, malty, fruity and some hops, and medium carbonation. Nothing special but very drinkable.

Bottle. Gold, good fluffy white head and moderate condition. Peppery fruit and grain in the nose with a touch of sweet pineapple, dry bitter graininess in the mouth with some background esteriness, gentle fruity finish with more esters lingering.
