ucfknightscott (46), Casselberry, Florida, USA Jan 6, 2009 Pours thick and orange with a medium, frothy white head. Aroma is very curious, smell apricot, raisins, caramel, and honey. Drinks very smooth, coats the mouth. A solid beer, very easy to drink and well balanced. csbosox (1076), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Jan 3, 2009 750 bottle. Corked. Served in a smokestack chalice. Beer slightly chilled. There was a good pop when the cork came out. Muddy brown, small head. Dark fruits, dark caramel, and some spiciness in the aroma. Mouthfeel is good, lots of carbonation present in the beer. The flavor is quite good, lots of complexity. Very drinkable. Dark fruits (raisons, dates, and prunes), sweet malt, spice (clove ? maybe allspice?) and warming alcohol near the end. Bockyhorsey (2483), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jan 2, 2009 Bottle courtesy of solan and shared by Sparky27 at hellbilly*s holiday tasting. Fruity orange carbinated aroma on the snoot. Amber body with tan head. Fruity orange flavor with some citric acid and dry and tart on palate. Good brew. Thanks Eric. KieferUGA (461), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Dec 31, 2008 Rating #400. 750 ml bottle. 2008 vintage. Deep, dark ruby color. Clear and full of carbonation. Large, fluffy, light tan head. Good bit of lacing. Aroma of spices, dark fruits, candi sugar. Flavor is pretty balanced. A touch of sweetness accompanies the dark fruits. Finish is malty. Nice beer. Glad to have them available in Georgia now. Nephilium (541), Ohio, USA Dec 29, 2008 Nice tart aroma starts this off, lots of carbonation with a huge tan head that sticks around. The beer itself is a reddish-amber in color, and highly carbonated. Nice balance of flavors, dark candi sugars, dark fruits, spice, a touch of roast, and just a hint of the tartness promised by the aroma. I am glad I got this one as an extra, it is a pleasant surprise. brentfeesh (1030), Gadsden, Alabama, USA Dec 29, 2008 750ml obtained in trade with dchmela. Deep amber/clover honey pour. Sweet honey like aroma. The flavor has almost no residual sugar but there is still a candy like presence. Very floral and flowery taste. Full body and mouth feel. Quite drinkable. Though not as good as the saison. 502Flavors (617), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Dec 27, 2008 750 thanks to daknole. This stuff is good, but a bit on the too sweet belgian style for me. Worth a try though. sloth (1657), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA Dec 27, 2008 Small light tan head, fizzy but lasting. Lacing is minimal, somewhat stringy and spotty. Hazy copper hued brew. Light nose of caramel malts, light fruit notes, raisin, plum? Body is lightly medium, lightly oily with a soft carbonation, surprisingly. Lightly sweet malt flavors, caramel with some candy sugar, faint bananna notes and hints of apple cider like flavors. Lightly sweet malty finish. Twas just OK. Bottle purchased @statelineliquors.
