Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA May 25, 2008 C&C 750 from kp - thanks! Hazy gold-orange with a slight white head. Spicy-sweet nose, bread and caramel, some ginger. Flavor follows the nose, with some doughy bits. Yeast shows up big as it warms a bit. Not a bad drinker - creamy medium body. kramer (2407), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA May 23, 2008 25 oz bottle, via SoLan and TheCheeseMan. Pours a clear bright copper body with a fizzy one finger off-white head that faded to a thin film. The nose is fruity with a crisp Macintosh apple juice focus. Some yeast, syrupy malt, light alcohol, and a touch of white pepper. The flavor is sweet fruity malt with a good bit of peppery alcohol, light brown sugar, and some yeastiness. Mouthfeel is fairly thick and viscous with some sticky residual sugars. Fizzy, slightly prickly carbonation. Overall, this was decent, but I think it was pretty lacking in complexity and subtlety. Big and heavy, but not distinctive. golubj (1275), Sunnyvale, California, USA May 15, 2008 Bottle. Brown pour with reddish hint, some off white head. Sweet sugary malt, ripe fruit, and yeast (unibrouesqu) in the aroma. The flavor is the same, the sugar and ripe fruit are nice flavors. Enjoyable and very drinkable for this abv. AgentSteve (1334), SF Bay Area, California, USA May 15, 2008 Another interesting Saint Somewhere brew. Attractive pour of dark caramel brown. Spicy nose and malty, fruity flavor. Complex. Kind of a train wreck. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam May 10, 2008 Bottle, on a sailboat. Murky brown color. Thick foamy head. Sour fruit aromas. Ditto with the body which is packed with fermented tropical and orchard fruits, mulling spices, as well as some meat flavors. Quite nice and very unusual as St. Somewhere beers are wont to be. A nice beer for the boat! markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA May 8, 2008 Overall this is a very good beer. It pours an amber/orange color with a warming cinnamon and apple/pear aroma. Good Belgian taste to it, but the carbonation was a bit lacking. It had virtually no head, even when I poured very aggressively. I have never been disappointed by a St. Somewhere brew, though. macguy (144), Tallahassee, Florida, USA May 4, 2008 Finding this brewery and this beer has made my need to return to Belgium a bit less urgent. It’s clean, just dry enough, has a tiny edge of funk that I personally find very desirable.
These guys are the closest decent brewery to my refrigerator. I’m going to do my best to get their product on the shelves of one of our local packey’s. thill25 (216), Orlando, Florida, USA May 4, 2008 750 ml bottle...poured golden orange w/ a slightly off-white head. Aromas of citrus and spices...Flavors of pears, yeast, white grapes, a touch of peach, a tiny bit of citrus, and some spices. The spices linger on the back of the palate as does a sweetness. The beer has a nice dry bite to it. Very tasty Florida brewed Belgian Strong.
